    Wait a minute, why won't the link work? FF.net keeps saying it can't locate the story. Is this just me or everyone?

    The author has apparently taken it down.

    Ella took it down. She wrote a few chapters beyond what was posted on her fanfiction site (they are on her LJ), but she hasn't added to it since.

    She's writing three other pieces that I know of: The third volume in her "Backward with Purpose" trilogy is underway. She's nearing the end of "Here Comes the Sun," a Harry/Ginny story of "romangst" between broken people. (The premise is that Ginny, a couple years younger than in canon and who never dated Harry, was captured and gang-raped repeatedly by the Death Eaters; Harry rescues her and kills Voldemort and several Death Eaters, yet becomes overcome by guilt afterward, realizing that she was captured and tortured in order to break Harry. Years later, Harry gets talked into taking up the Hogwarts Defense teacher during her final year at Hogwarts. Things pick up from there). The writing and storytelling are both very good. However, though Ginny is not her canon or fanon self, this kind of story would appeal to very few on here. Ella also just started another post-Hogwarts Harry/Ginny romance, "It's Not Easy Being Green," that's only a chapter or so in.

    It's a disappointment that she's put the story on hiatus; I don't know whether YOS will be continued. From the sound of things, she's lost her passion for that story.

    Wow, Pers. You just made me interested in that romangst fic. >< I usually avoid them, but I may just check that one out.

    I've been working on it. I haven't given up on it, I really haven't. But I started getting really dissatisfied with it, mostly because I felt like it was too angsty. And -- I know you guys dislike Ginny -- it's a little frustrating since I've been wanting to write more relationships. But I do really like it, and I've been working on it. Not so much writing as outlining (which is not something I've ever done).

    So, yeah. Don't give up on it.

    You didn't misrepresent me. You've always been very kind about my stories. And you're definitely entitled to think that I've given up on it. But I do finish what I start; I just want to do it justice, mainly.

    Wow, I thought for sure we had scared you away with the BwP thread. ^^;

    I read One Year of Solitude when it was up, and enjoyed it quite a bit. The only part I didn't like was Harry's continued downward spiral even after Neville and Ron told him something was unquestionably wrong. If you're fixing the over-angst...

    Well! I'll be looking forward to the repost.
