Probably one of the funniest TV shows I've seen in a long time. Shawn Spencer is a person with photographic memory, with a policeman father who was overbearing as hell and trained his memory and detective skills to razor edge.

He starts off with watching TV reports about crimes and calls in the real solutions to them when he sees the cops have it wrong. The cops discover him and think he's a killer since he knows details he shouldnt. He has to pretend he's psychic so he doesn't get thrown in jail. He covers his discoveries by pretending to have visions. Couple that with some creative humor, and some insane plotlines, and how funny it is when he gets his "visions" and it's an awesome show.

That and Juliette is hot as hell.

I'm with on most of these things. But after two seasons, the schtick is getting a little tired. Sometimes Shawn's attitude goes beyond cleverly sarcastic and likable into areas of annoyance.

The way episodes start with flashbacks to when Shawn and Gus were kids is often interesting stuff. I remember really liking the Rachel Leigh Cook episode. About as much as I disliked Cybil Shepard.

The puns, the dialogue, and the pop culture references keep bringing me back for more though. I think sometimes they "dumb down" the show too much, but especially during summer when there's little to nothing new on tv, it's excellent entertainment.

 

Hnn. Thought I was the only one who liked this show around here. Pretty damned awesome. But yeah. I agree Shawn does get reaally close to botheringly annoying.

Personally, while Psych is awesome, I prefer Monk. Tony Shalhoub is a mother fucking actor. Really really good show.

 

Monk is pretty awesome too, but after the first few years of them exaggerating his condition, it just got too much. I do have the first 4 seasons on DVD though, I actually bought those as a x-mas present.

 

This show is one of my favorites. The jokes are almost always funny, and the plots are entertaining.

I agree, by the 3rd season, some of it was beginning to get old, but not nearly enough to make me stop watching.

 

The show is great but I did find the last season a little dull. I'm hoping it will get better next time. Loved the mummy episode.

The part where Gus needs to do a three point turn and it takes him 11 tries...
"The 11 point turn Gus..."
"It's a company car Shawn!"

 

I love this show, and I thought I was the only one.

I have to say, Lassiter is the most awesome character to hate. I think he would throw the bible at Shawn, I really do.

 

I've seen a few episodes and it never really impressed me for some reason. Anyway the main point of my otherwise pointless post is to ask how two admins and a super mod posted in this thread and it hasn't been moved to the video game, movie, etc thread?
