Title: A Collection of Harmonious One-Shots
    Author: Seel'vor
    Rating: Teen
    Genre: Dark
    DLP: Dark, Independent
    Pairing: H/Hr
Status: One-shot [this is the first story in a series of one-shots]

    Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4780695/1/A_Collection_of_Harmonious_OneShots

Summary: When he forces AD into full disclosure, Harry decides to embrace his experiences, and takes Hermione with him.

Before anyone throws a fit about the "Harmonious," this particular one-shot is not fluffy in any way. There were only two options for Harry: roll over or get mean. What I love about it is all the possibilities. Besides, I like a Dark!Harry if Hermione is there to keep him smart.

Let me make it clear: I am rec'ing the first chapter only for this board.

It opens up unpromisingly with Harry ranting to a manipulative!Dumbledore. Granted, the setting is different, but only because the Indepenent!Harry/Manipulative!Dumbledore popularity boom took place long before the release of DH.

And not only H/Hr, but revisionist H/HR? The romantic aspect is indisputably a failure.

The idea of Harry is somewhat unique and I want to give points for that, but the potential of the storyline rests after where the author chose to end it.

The second one is even worse.

I'll give them a 2/5, because at least the writing itself was passable and partially due to H/Hr not being to my taste.

    Oh for fuck's sake.

These parts pretty much sum up the first chapter:

    Kill it with fire.

"wanna make out now and then conquer the world"

Given the OP's love for 'Partially-Kissed Hero', this didn't surprise me in the least.

    ...Wtf.

    Uncalled for.

That said, the quoted passages made me wince. I don't care for Dumbledore-bashing in general, and I care even less for a pretentious, scornful Harry. Not my cup of tea I guess -- but then again I have the same problem with most of the "Independent" genre.

I read the whole story and it had me laughing at the sheer stupidity of it.

But the one proper thing that the one shot had was Harry's anger at Dumbledore. Not the intensity of it, but in DH, after knowing that his entire life was a manipulation, Harry just nods and moves ahead. I was expecting something similar to his out-burst in OotP sans the breaking of stuff.

I'll go with a 2/5, but let's save the fire; there are fics out there that deserve it more.

Seel'vor has a few fics on ff.net that are more readable than this. This Harry is way, way over-the-top. "Harry Potter and the Quantum Leap" is his big fic; it's a super time-turner, super-Harry, do-it-all-over again story, but it has its fun moments.

    This one-shot is a definite 2/5.

Do not pass go, do not pass The Recycling Bin, go straight to delete. This fic is mediocre at best without pulling out the checklist of cliches.

No, just no. I had X-button twitches within the first few lines.

    2/5

One of those mostly readable bash-fics that I sink my teeth into when I'm sufficiently bored. But they'll definitely not end up in the Library any time soon. Those recent Time Travel ficlets are quite a lot better, though.

    2.4375/5, just for lulz.

Lulz or not, you either commit to the traditional rating scale, or you get the fuck out.

As a on again- off again follower of Harmony, I'll say that as far as this story goes, it sucks, and I've seen better.

Solid writing, etc, and I'll give it a 2/5 for the effort. The whole, memory blocks, and ranting at Dumbledore are so old and boring anymore. It might've been interesting the first five thousand times, but for the 5001 time, meh... Its losing its pizazz.

Meh. It has some grammar errors (mostly it's/its confusion that I've noticed) and is way too over-the-top for my taste. 2 stars.

They actually talk about being a Dark Lord or Lady. In my (limited experience) people who are bad rarely think they are so.

Throw in the shitty premise and you have a grade D pile of....

    What's that sound?

Okay, the first chapter was the only one really worth reading, and it was over the top although not really that bad, its nothing to write home to mom about either.

The grammar is mostly solid. Over all I give this a 1/5. I just simply found it quite mediocre, and the romance component just simply doesn't work for me unless its Dark!Harry/Dark!CanonCharacter.<insert character="" here="">

I agree with Alex. They weren't all that great, could have been written better. I'd probably give it a 2 because they just didn't quite "go with the flow".
