Fairly ingenious move on Dumbledore's part. If Hermione conceives the Potter spawn, Harry should not have to stay at the castle anymore. And there isn't anything to be stolen now.

Hermione's a year older than Harry. So she would be 17 not sixteen at this point in the storyline. And Dumbledore is likely trying to set it up so Harry kills him, both receiving the elder wand and helping cement Harry's role as the BWL possessed by Voldemort's old buddy. While Dumbledore didn't make that one up I'm certain he has no trouble adding it to his plans. After all Dumbledore doesn't know baba yaga told Harry about him being a horrocrux, he likely expects Harry to die to kill Voldemort.

 

Thanks for all the comments. I'll be starting on the next chapter of Lie tomorrow or Monday. In publishing news, I just ordered my proof copy of Horror, Humor, and Heroes. I expect the book to go on sale by the first week in February. I ended up using Amazon's Createspace instead of Lulu to keep the cost reasonable. The cheapest I could price the book using Lulu's service (and still listing on Amazon) was about $15. That's too hight. Using the Createspace setup (along with the $39 "Upgrade to Pro" plan) I can keep the price down to $9.95 and still have a profit margin.

No Amazon link to give just yet. The Createspace one is https://www.createspace.com/3370531. As you can see that one is pretty generic and if you're spending your money, I'd rather get the sales numbers from Amazon over the extra $1.50 or so I'd get if you bought it in Createspace's e-store.

This Dumbledore doesn't really make any sense to me unless he is meant to be mentally ill. He's resorting to unforgiveables, mind control and rape, yet thinks he's a good guy? And is preparing for the afterlife like he's not going to be roasting in hell?

Evil Dumbledore is Evil Dumbledore, fine, but having a Dumbledore who thinks he's doing the right thing while doing things that are really obviously evil (and frequently not even necessary) just makes him seem stupid. It would make a lot more sense if I didn't get the feeling this story was trying to have it both ways with a Dumbledore who thinks he's doing the right thing AND does villain-rubbing-hands-together-in-evil-glee type actions. It's like next he'll be raping babies while believing it's the Right Thing To Do.

 

He calls it the "Greater Good" I believe.
