2nd Episode was pretty good. 3rd episode was nice overall, but its the thing right at the very end that threw me:

The small byplay between Echo and Sierra raises the question whether they are much further along the road to self-realization than we expect. Remember, compared to the others, Sierra is a very new active... does that mean it takes a while for the personality of the active to truly fade away? Or that some people have something different about them that allows them to remember memories and traits even after the wipe? Or is it a sort of resistance they develop?

At first I'd thought that the season started with faint stirrings of remembrance. But perhaps we are much further than I thought.

Oh, making the FBI fuckers contact an active - priceless.

Him taking out those men... not so sweet. Wouldn't they know, if they were the 'mafia', that an FBI agent would be wearing some fucking Kevlar? Shoot the bastard once more...on the knee. S' All. But meh. Every since that little boxing montage thingy in the first episode that guy has been irritating.

Indeed. It always pisses me off when they shoot a guy in the stomach, or else just punch him really hard then turn their backs... happens every time, and it never makes sense.

Echo walked in on the wipe of Sierra. That might have did something to effect the process. Leave an imprint or something.

    Great Episode.
I wished that the singer bitch would have died.
"I wanna give them a show" She didnt deserve to live after all that. She wanted to let sierra die so she could want to die.

Didn't anyone watch Friday's episode? I thought it was the best yet. Topher is my favorite character.

Next week is the episode where Joss Whedon got back full control of the show, after FOX had much control of the first 5 episodes.

So the rest of the season is 100% pure Joss. Let's see what he does.

    Re: the pilot episode.

I personally think Joss Whedon learned his lesson from Firefly and made the second episode the real backstory of the early story arc, with elements of it in the first episode.

Since "The Train Job" and "Serenity" got screwed up in the airing order by Fox, I guess he figured that either way, he couldn't really lose out. Either they'd air it the way he wanted it seen, or they'd fuck it up again, and there wouldn't be too much of a loss in continuity.

Hmm... I would have to agree with that statement. I think Joss learned quite a lot from Firefly. For instance, setting up the series so the 13 episodes would have a complete story arc, but also allowing for an opening for a second season.

Of the five episodes, the second one was my favorite by far, which was surprising because to me. I think I'll like this last one when I actually own the DVD, but for now it was a bit disappointing. Tim Minear is my favorite writer, but it lacked the punch most of his episodes do. (For Firefly junkies, he wrote Out of Gas)

Of course, there hyping the next episode as "the one where everything changes" and hint that the Dollhouse might be discovered in this season. I'm not buying the bait yet, Joss would not have called the Dollhouse if he was planning on having the organization discovered.

Whoa. I just finished watching tonight's episode, and I have to say it took an epic step up in quality (not that I haven't enjoyed it so far).

The biggest doubts I had upon hearing of Dollhouse's premise were quelled. The question about whether I could come to care about the seemingly empty dolls was quickly answered with the disgust and anger I felt at Sierra's situation. Also, more of an insight into why someone would hire an active was given with the client of the week, who managed to be both touching and creepy (a combo that's getting pretty common in the series).

All in all, it was a great episode. Plot development, character development, and a build up of the show's mythos all fit together smoothly.

I'll be honest: I enjoyed last week's episode far more than the previous ones. Even though Fox has moved it to the death knell time slot, I still hold out hope that it's going to go more of the way of X-Files than Firefly.

I'm currently watching this week's episode online; I'll reserve judgement on it until I finish the whole show.

Whoa, the episode was surprisingly dark. I really felt sorry for Sierra and
I'm glad that the guy who did it got killed. And got done in by the so-called civilian. I heard that the person that plays Paul's neighbor was originally cast as an active named November before the role changed. I'm guessing that the neighbor is actually an active that's there to watch Paul. Or something like that.

Such a good episode, best one so far in my opinion. This episode was the first one under Joss's (the creator's) complete control and I'm really looking forward to later episodes.

Before this episode, I was having quite a few doubts. Now, I'm feeling miles better and more hopeful for the series.

I don't know if it's just FOX got out of Joss's way finally or what but this was definitely a turning point. Lots of great things and intrigue going on. I'll admit, I was halfway hoping that somehow
Mellie, the curvy girl next door was Alpha, but it appears she's just another well-placed active.

Anyways. This is for the moment, my new favorite episode. If for nothing else than the 'man on the street' interview with the boyfriend and girlfriend talking about if they could have a doll for a night. I know the humor's cheap and easy, but sometimes that stuff just kills me.

I think my favorite line is the one about playing a bad hand very well. I like the turn of phrase, and distinction between the two. It shows The Lady's (Dewitt?) need for precision.

There are three flowers in a vase. We know what two of the colors mean, so I wonder what the third one does.

My guess would be either Black for Suicide or White for return to Dollhouse for the 3rd flower

This was by far the best episode.

They hyped this episode as the one you "can't miss", and they weren't kidding. The storyline is progressing a lot faster than I thought it would.

I wasn't shocked that the neighbor was really an active, that thought's been bouncing around my head ever since Victor was revealed as one. But I was really impressed at how they revealed it. Awesome storytelling.

I'm still half-expecting that Ballard will end up as Echo's handler eventually, and that the entire speech that she gave him about an inside man was a lie so that they can try to recruit him. I can't think of any other reason why they would be so determined to keep him alive.

I did WTF a little at Ballard spending the entire episode kickboxing and having sex while he still has a bullet hole in his gut. I can buy him as a tough guy, but no one's that tough.

EDIT: Watching it again. Ten internet bucks says that the hot blonde who was talking about how nice it was of the dolls to "help" people by becoming their fantasy shows up as an active in a later episode.

I've enjoyed the show so far, I've watch Buffy and Angel and liked Faith before the whole "cleavagy slut-bomb walking around 'Ooh, check me out, I'm wicked-cool, I'm five-by-five.'" :D And I think she does well as Echo both as a blank doll and the different personalities.

One thing that is on my mind is im not sure how the story can stretch past the dolls becoming self-aware? And dragging that out over seasons would get boring very quick.

Enjoyed the action in episode 6, hoping this continues, and I get the feeling Echos message to Ballard is more than it seems? Looking forward to more episodes, hopefully with some psychomultiplepersonality!Alpha.

Well, this recent episode started discussing the grand scheme of things. The dollhouse is wide spread; it's not just one establishment. I'm sure the show with be about the dolls becoming self aware, aswell as bringing down the operation.

Dude, he's Helo. He can fucking do anything.

Might be nice to see him get a piece of ass that didn't come pre-programmed though.
