    Title: Riddick
    Author: Thoraxe 357
    Rating: M
Genre: Romance/General (That´s not how i would label it though...)
    DLP Category: Azkaban Fics
Pairing: Harry/Hermione (It´s not very prominent though)
    Status: Completed
Summary: He was ostricized by the very people he was destined to protect and sent to Azkaban. However, they never imaginged that sending Harry Potter away would create something much darker, and a helluva lot more badass. H/Hr

This is a quite good story i found today when browsing ff.net
It features a badass Harry who escapes from Azkaban after being framed for a crime he did not commit.
However, do not fear! The cliché is not to terrible and the story takes a somewhat original twist soon.
Short story, a perfect quick read. Not the best, not the worst.

    4/5

Edit: Hmmm, thought i had to put [Rating] in title. Well, if a moderator feels up to the job, please remove it

The cliches are terrible. Weasleys want his money - but of course Fred and George don't.

Harry hasn't touched his wand for years - but obviously his magic gets stronger.

Jesus, why don't the people that write these stories have functioning brains?

The characterization of everyone not supporting Harry is a joke, including Voldemort.

    Either a 1/5 or 2/5.

Well, i know that the characterization is not very good but i think this kind of fits with the story. It´s short and jumps over big parts that i would have liked to read but at the same time it feels good when you read it and it ends before you grow to bored of it.

Agree with Andromalius here, and would like to add that at some points, the grammar gets absolutely atrocious too. Characterization is terrible, dialogue is even worse, and the journal/italics segments are so badly written I can barely decipher what's being written at points. And the cliches are making my stomach clench. The one unique thing that struck me was Dumbledore's plan, and that just made my stomach churn. I mean, I tolerate manipulative!Dumbledore more than most, but I can't believe that he would have Harry sent to Azkaban just to make him stronger. Given the rep that place has...

So final answer... this is not library worthy. At ALL. 1/5

EDIT: reread a few chapters of it, only to discover that Tonks' personality was butchered beyond belief. New rating: 0.5/5

EDIT 2: any fic that has a chapter titled 'WTF' (and I'm not kidding) is destined for instant, flaming FAIL

Eviscerated is the past tense of eviscerate which means to disembowel. How does one disembowel a jugular?

    Also, RIDDICK! The fuck?

Has this got anything to do with the Chronicles of Riddick? Because Necromonger!Harry would be interesting.

Stories like this are part of why I don't much go for Azkaban fics anymore. I think I could look past the cliché elements if it were an artfully done piece. Unfortunately, it wasn't. Most annoying for me was that there was basically no conflict--just a "Harry gets revenge on everyone" cookie-cutter.

2/5 from me. I was tempted to give an extra point just for the lulzy A/N up front:
Two capitalization mistakes in two sentences, hardly the trappings of a non-"sloppily written" story. Also, it's bizarre that he makes two general categories for the two Azkaban stories he's read.

(I say "was tempted" because his retarded chapter titles pulled it back down).

Edit: It has nothing to do with it, Taure, aside from the name.

Second Edit: If you look over some of the other fics in the Library, you'll see this one isn't that far off in terms of quality; three years ago, it would have been recycling bin material. I think it shows how much community standards have evolved.

Haven't read it (and don't plan to), but I doubt that it is actually based off of the Chronicles of Riddick. More likely it is just an attempt to make Harry more bad-ass by basing his character loosely off of Riddick. No necromongers, or anything.

    Edit: Right. What Perspicacity said.

I couldn't get past chapter one.

I actually laughed when I read the last line of the prologue, with the dying guard exclaiming "Riddick!". I didn't read long enough to see how he got that name and more importantly, I didn't care enough.

For an author who was anti-cliche, this story is chalk full of them. EEVIL Weasleys, immunity to dementors blah blah blah. Oh - and the chapter titles were pathetic.

    t/5 whereas t = 1

Normally I wouldn't even click story with summary like this, but seeing that it was in here...

I read the whole thing, narration is pathetic, author has problems with proper spelling, plot is rushed and unclear. The only redeeming quality is that Harry (who goes under ridiculous name of Riddick) actually takes his revenge instead of forgiving them.

    1.5 rounded to 2/5.

Story was garbage, even to my tastes. I'd give this a 2 at the most. Please refrain from recommending such crap in the future. As others have said: Do not want.

    Meh.

1 star for being really bad, cliche-filled garbage.
but 1 star more for being slightly lulzy at the same time.

    2 stars.

No fic that features the Weasleys to:
gets more than 2/5. I might not be the biggest fan of the read heads in the HP universe but having them after Potter's money is simply laughable plot.
In extremely rear situations where the plot makes them support Dumbledore in keeping Harry in check the thing could be readable, but experience points that the common case it's used to get 'Ginny slut' thoroughly bashed and leave Hermione free to 'soul bond' with her mistreated best friend.
I'll edit after reading but after seen the beginning of the second chapter and that the story will feature a Harry/Hermione pairing... I have very little expectations and even less desire to continue reading...

Yeah, this is fairly rough to read. I skimmed through the first three chapters quickly enough to rate this a 1.5/5 before quitting. I think that's being generous, so I'm rounding down for the thread rating.

This story fails. Any story with a chapter title of "WTF" needs to die in a fire.
