I can agree with the idea in total, but canon Snape was kind of a fool by any definition. I really disliked Snape, as I was supposed to, but found his methods retarded. Even if he did the best thing in the end, doesn't make him any less of an idiot.

 

Okay, as someone who actually found Snape's character to be one of the most well-written and developed in Rowling's work, I can whole-heartedly say that I prefer canon to fanon Snape. He's an insufferable bastard, a greasy git, but he was a well-developed character that I can appreciate. That scrawl on the right is making me want to gouge my eyes out with a filth-encrusted wooden spoon infested with termites.

And Canon Snape in that one is way too good-looking. Those robes are way too fancy, and the hair isn't all that greasy. And since when did Snape have a beard? Still, it's very good. And far > than the yaoi bishie on the right hand side.

Oh my gosh, I love the picture. It's really accurate. I disliked canon Snape because he's a bastard, but I HATE fanon Snape because he has no depth to his character at all, and the authors basically took Snape out of their story and replaced him with a hot gay guy who happens to be named Severus Snape and is the Potions Master of Hogwarts.

 

But in your intro thread you say that you do like the Snape/Hermione pairing? WTF?

Sophie: I like Hermione/Snape sometimes. It has to be really well written or a parody, cause otherwise it makes no sense. In my opinion a good Hermione/Snape story is The Fire and the Rose.
