    Also: Fuck yeah, Armstrong!

There's something strange about the art that just puts me off. I assume it's the fact that I'm so used to the original anime.

They used same art style in Gundam 00, the latest Gundam series. I think it's called cell-shading or something like that. Personally, I loved it. It's great after all these years to see it renewed with refined animation.

  3. I liked this new one a lot. Granted it was only one episode and could jump the shark at any time, it was good.

I think this is a much better start then the original series. The world is more defined, I suppose. I remember wtf-ing for the first four or five episodes of the original. (Since its still in the same world I might just be more informed...)

Let's hope it only gets better from here, and if it follows the manga, there is a good chance it will.

Does anybody else have any other links to it? The video has been taken down.

  5. Here is an AVI from MegaUpload that a friend used, so I know the subs are alright. Enjoy! :)

Thanks. I prefer the other animation but I have no real problem with this animation.

Second episode is up. Some pretty heavy foreshadowing in the first bit of the episode. Anyone else a fan of the new opening?

Yeah any links that get put up are going to be taken down within a week or so.

Do you mean that little 15 second thing where they talk about alchemy and equivalent exchange? If you are referring to that, then no I hate it, it sounds terrible in Japanese and really it's pointless. One of the few things Soul Eater did well was it's "A sound soul resides..." thing, FMA's one doesn't work well.

Alright way too much info is given out this time around, we saw their alchemy master and that thing with god/entirety/universe/you sucked balls.

However, the episode did get better and the whole recruitment thing with Mustang and Hawkeye was good. Overall, another OK episode had its good and its bad points but I enjoyed it quite a bit.

If it gets taken down just go to kumby. Best site for anime in general. Always have at least one video up for the episode.

God, that botched human transmutation always freaks me the fuck out.

Not bad. I assume it'll take a bit before we get to the new stuff. If I were someone completely new to the series, it would be awesome.

I'm pretty sure posting links to up loaded anime counts as talking about "warez" which invites banning. Especially when funimation.com should have the next episode legally subbed on their website in a couples of days.

Is there a thread hanging around that lays out what the mods/admins have decided constitutes "warez" talk? Because Vash's sticky while a dire threat is not exactly clear as to what it is.

And you can't get funimation in Australia so as wicked as their site is (I scroll down their list of anime and cry that I can't get any of it) it's useless for some.

How do you know how wicked their site is if you can't get it? If you can get to their site what is stopping you from hitting play on the streaming video? It is not something you have to buy. The video is on the site and it is free.

    Definiton from wiki
Since the data for the video is going to your computer, it is being "traded". It also violates copyright laws so it is "warez".

You hit streaming and its says, "This video is not available in your region/country." Eyeroll.

I'm not completely positive it's appropriate for your country, but anime-media.com has been working great for me so far. They have the new episode up and subbed every Monday.

As far as the anime goes, I'm loving it so far. Bradley was always powerful before, but his quick sword ability is just bad ass compared to his old stuff.

The disintegration in the second episode was pretty so-so I thought though. It was cool to see everything go layer by layer, but I almost expected Ed or Al to be sucked into a computer by the pixel-like disappearance.

The other thing that kind of bothered me at first was the drawing style. But the more I see of the show, the less I really care. They followed the manga style to a "T" and I guess they had to have some big difference so people knew which series they were watching. Ah, well...still looking forward to seeing the third episode.

I watched the 3 first episodes of Hagane no Renkinjutsushi today. It was okay.

It'll get better when we get to a point where we're diverging from the original anime and following the manga.

Does anyone else get really jarred when it goes to cut to commercial and says "Full Metal Alchemist" in English?

More of the same, so far, but I've been meaning to re-watch the series, so I'm enjoying it.

Yeah, but I figure they're doing it more to suit everything for a more American audience. There are a few noticeable parts where their speech is visibly drawn for the American word rather than the Japanese word.

One part really bugged me in this last episode when Ed is looking all serious and mouthing "never" while speaking a three or four syllable word in Japanese, but I guess that's just the crap you have to deal with when watching anime..

Well the way they dealt with Leto was far better than in the original anime, I'm definitely enjoying the build-up of the homunculi as the villains again.
