lol thx, it's from a shoutcast series I did for GOD radio about this war we're in in Cybernations. I put on a fake accent and did like 10 minutes of recordings. The first one was just me fucking around, the second was a pretty epic undertaking, ask Sree about it.

You more than deserve the title of 'DLP Archivist'....

Just a thought; did you check the HP recycling bin for deleted fics?

Not like I probably should have... last time I tried I was met with stony silence for the most part and a author reply more or less calling me a tool for "necroing" a thread to post the none-availability of his work. It doesn't really pay to ask for back ups of a fic unless its a 'big name' author whose work was deleted by the FF.nutz Admins....

The sad truth seems to be (regardless of my or your opinion of it) any author who deletes their own work citing lack of quality is usually correct. If an author doesn't respect their work enough to finish it or keep it available then why should we care more than they? Obvious exceptions proving this rule include some of DLP's biggest posters, so YMMV as usual...but it does seem to work as a general rule of thumb.

PS: Are there any releases on the HPRecycleBin I missed that should be added to the first post as an addendum? I can't really justify making a new archive so soon after the last one, not to mention how that'd invalidate all the mirrors so many people generously put up--but if there's anything major that shows up it'd be nice to mention those in the first post!

Thank you, it really isn't much of a problem. I can get the file uploaded in about 20-25 minutes, without a noticeable change in web-surfing quality.

If anyone can think of another file host site they would like a mirror to, PM me and I'll try to get it up asap.

    Thanks again Sree!

Heh...on my craptastic connection it can take me over a few hours to upload--longer if I actually have the audacity to want to surf while it does it.. Oh and trying to listen to music or download at the same time? Fat chance!

Not to mention sometimes the site\browser will decide to dump me half way into the upload leaving me with a white page and no link.... It was crap like that that made me start using Rapidshit all the time...

Trust me your contributions (and anyone else who posts an mirror) are appreciated! Especially for those who are unfortunate enough to live in places where their ISP limit their use of certain sites.

2009 DLP Archive, is there one outhere?

I Know this is necro posting and i know it's not allowed but i don't know where else to ask. Is there a 2009 DLP archive in the works, and if so when will it be available. I've read everything in the last Archive and can't wait for the next one to emerge.

    Sorry for the necro-posting

Geez, I wonder if it'll rain tomorrow. But since I'm not psychic, how can I find out?

I know, I'll ask an admin!

After all, they are just waiting at their computers, sitting lonely in the dark, waiting for nothing more than a pm they, and only they could possibly answer. Such is the life of admins.

Okay, now some may have spotted the hint of sarcasm I have buried there, directed slightly towards Shadowmage there.

And now, for the slower people among you, here's the frank version:

Do you think the admins have nothing better to do than answer stupid questions by pm? Just ask Midnight, he'll gladly ban you for the very insinuation. They get enough pms without people like you adding their inane gibberish. Especially considering there is a perfectly decent thread about it.

Let's not forget that, for someone of you high and mighty disposition, you show quite a lack of knowledge, considering the Admins have rather little to do with the archive, other than giving bornagainpenguin the title of DLP Archivist.

This, by the way, is another hint that bornagainpenguin is actually the person to ask about this, rather than, say, people that have nothing to do with it.

    In conclusion, fuck you.

It has been a year since the last archive was updated. Many of the fics have been either updated or completed since then. So, maybe it is time then that another archive was formed ?

Yeah he does. And has been for a few years. So I guess he'll do it again if he feels like it and not because some lurker wants him to.
