These people just don't want to be ninja do they. Talk and cry, learn about each others feelings and pain. I know it's shounen manga but could just one fight end with someone jumping from the shadows and lodging a kunai in someone's throat. Feelings and pain after that awesomo fight seems an average way to end the arc imo.

What Jon said, I didn't see it coming. The sage/kyuubi eye thing is fucking cool.

I also agree with Howdy, I want more backstory especially more of Pein's who we know so little about. It's Naruto what would it be without a few chapters dedicated to exploring the villain's past in flashbacks.

Sage mode + Kyubi = Nice

    Pein's backstory.....meh

I guess it doesn't really strike me since it was kind of obvious. From the way he talked about how other countries' war ravaged Ame and how he felt pain and knew pain it really comes as no surprise that he lost his parents like this. Civillians being mistakenly killed by soldiers is pretty much common in both real life and fiction.

I spose we'll get a lot more depth next chapter. I'd like to see how he met up with the other two, also, how he came to have his eyes. I'm wondering if it was a recessive gene or a random occurence. It'll be interesting to know.

I found it pretty symbolic the kyuubi + sage eye = 中

中 is middle and in this case is probably symbolic of the "middle way" where Naruto neither forgives pain nor kills him outright.

It's really lame how everything's turned out though. I don't know how the story could get any worse. Pain's the typical "idealistic bad guy" I don't give a shit why he's trying to take over the world, at this point I wish he'd just die.

I guess that's less contrived than 十, which is ten. With both eyes, one could almost expect Tenten to swoop in and save the day...

[Edit: Wasted my 900th post on that shit.]

    Lulz.

It translates to 'ten.' It's actually pronounced 'jyuu' in Japanese.

So now both Naruto and Sasuke have Jew eyes?

    Interesting.

Give it a rest, dude. They're not abandoned, and that's all I can say.

If you're really aching for something to read from me, go see the first chapter of my new story Roll With The Changes in WBA. And actually critique it, please.

Can you provide a link to WBA, Howdy. I can't find it.

It's the first thing I've ever posted completely unedited, even by myself, so if you're really going to review it overlook the spelling errors and word repetition as I can take care of that on my own.

    Updated.

Tiny - what a dog, the catalyst for all this destruction and mayhem. Also the catalyst for all the emo-faggotry that I sat through this chapter.

At this point, to me, Uchiha Madara has more credibility than this poser. At least Madara is a villain not because everything hurts and I'm so sad, but because he got boned for leadership in Konoha and he wants revenge.

You know the whole reason Madara's doing this is because Shodai flattened his kitten right?

That ranks right up there in contention for the dumbest post I've ever seen in this thread. The dog was just one of many shitty, horrible experiences that Nagato faced.

He was homeless, friendless, and starving to death, and got to experience another companion die senselessly due to war.

What the hell were you expecting here, exactly?

Honestly I'm tired of this bitching and moaning. This flashback makes sense. Deal with it.

So the major villains of Naruto are all pissed because Konoha ninja hurt their pets?

Kishi sure has some strange ideas.

Dam it can't we just get two or three screens of Hanzou actually fighting. Let the man live up to his hype.

There's a bit more to it than that--among other things, it marks the point when Yahiko's dreams become his, it foreshadows Yahiko's death, and it helps bridge, through violence, war, and later, betrayal, his antipathy toward Konoha and war in general. But if you want to read it as "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my puppy--prepare to die," I won't stop you.

I think you might enjoy the manga more if you don't read it weekly, but let a month or two pile up and read them in one go. This way you can skim the "emo-faggotry" you dislike so and skip to explosions and power-ups and other good stuff.

I agree with Torak on Hanzou though.

Anstid, the point is that rather than being a boring "chaotic evil" villain who is simply evil because the author said so, Kishi is actually being a decent author and showing that Nagato became what he is through entirely understandable hardships. Tiny was simply 'the straw that broke the camels back'. As this is incredibly obvious, I must assume that you are either a: trollin' or b: a fucking retard.

Hanzou is the Chuck Norris of the Naruto world.

    I want moar!

Just to clarify, Tiny's death wasn't the second pain that Nagato was talking about. The teaser for two weeks from now states clearly "Next issue, the birth of Pain! 'The Greatest Pain.'"

So yeah, next chapter is probably Yahiko's death, which finally pushes Nagato and Konan over the edge.

Howdy there have to be aspects of Nagato that you are disappointed in?

Yahiko wanting to rule the world, be a god. That's great, but Nagato just taking that dream for himself makes him seem a bit shallow.

This whole flashback scene could have been played out a whole lot better, say when Naruto saw the deaths of Kakashi and Jiraiya when he stabbed himself with the chakra rod. Wouldn't that have been a better time to see a flashback to Nagato's fomative years, instead of having two of the strongest shinobi in the world discussing their childhood torments.

It might make sense as you say, but it could have been done a lot better, and made both Naruto and Nagato not look stupid.

But all this text is fucked against a wall if no one dies Naruto vs. Nagato. If they reach a truce then, all this shit empathising would have been for a point.
