Okay who else wants to see Amaris dead? Well maybe not dead, before Harry gets to rape and torture her. Lil' biyatch, but will Harry actually want that revenge by the time he's finished?

Also merciel lying to Harry about the Sword, her being the Knight what a cow. She may 'love' him; her own definition of that being to bend him over and pound his ass, but I'm hoping she at least will try to finish off Maeve or at least Amaris.

    Great update.
Is Dumbledore one of Meciel's descendants? That was what it seemed, at least to me, when Meciel talked about his ancestors.

Enjoyed the update Shezza. Only thing that bothered me was the lack of reaction form Harry when Maeve called him 'beloved'. That's Meciel's word. I don't get the feeling Harry was broken enough to have no reaction to this.

    Is the repetition necessary?

The torture scene weirded me out, I really hope for some very graphic revenge later.

I may have missed something completely here, but I wonder if Harry will ever find out about his vault in gringotts.

Fantastic scene Shezza, the Denarian series are probrably my favourite pieces of fanfiction.

The realism in all of the characters is quite frankly amazing. The fact that they all have individual personalities is a testament to your writing prowess. Absolutely amazing stuff. Publish a book, man. I'll buy 20.

Alright so Im a little late but damn that was an excellent chapter. Its odd with all the Winter Fae Dresden fics floating around I always had a liking for Maeve. However after reading that torture scene I think something along the lines of an altered plug in of Big D's Maeve fic is easily the minimum called for except with a lot more violence and pain involved for her.

Yeah I definitely want to see Harry and Meciel pull a Big D on Maeve but with more iron involved. I honestly don't know how Amaris will turn out. As is right now I honestly don't see her choosing her human side rather then her fae side, and I'm not sure if Harry will be able to forgive her.

    BWUHAHAHAHAHA...hack...cough... deep breath.

I've been cackling my hands madly and rubbing my hands maniacally in glee for about 5 minutes straight now. Great stuff, the torture is very well done, in that we see half, but only the effective half, we see the results but not the process. Awesome new chapter.

Maeve = Knight of the Holy Cross well I'm not a fan to be honest, but it was a bit of a shocker.

Maeve isn't a Knight...that's Meciel. I know they're both immortal AND hot, but they're not the same.

Nope, he meant Maeve. Shezza wrote an alternate story just for meatzman in which Maeve is a Knight of the Cross.

Or, he could have typed the wrong name. Either one, really.

Ah yeah woops my bad, I meant Meciel, the hot fallen (or maybe not so fallen) angel not the hot badass torturing faerie-queen slut.

That would be awesome, but unfortunately is not at this stage, nor probably will be at any stage, the case.

So, Meciel is a Knight of the Cross... I'm starting to get a redeemed!Meciel vibe. Hopefully I'm wrong, since I can't really see Meciel ever behaving like a "regular" angel.

Except for that, I absolutely loved this chapter and can't wait for an update.

    Poor Harry.

I thought it was a tad unrealistic that Maeve thought she could be able to control Harry and Meciel like Fawkes and Dumbledore, however - I mean Harry isn't exactly the kind of chap to submit to that.

Here's the problem: I don't think that Harry is exactly good as far as resisting torture goes.

For the last ten years or so Meciel has been shielding him from basically everything. It's cold? She does an illusion of warmth. He feels pain in battle? She suppress it for him. The bed is not comfy? Oh yeah, it is. Food not to his liking? It tastes like the best food ever.

For every type of unpleasant sensation, ranging from agonizing battle injuries to minor nuisances and discomforts of daily life, Meciel has been there to shield him.

Aside from the mental exercises - like those that Lasciel taught Dresden - I don't think that Harry knows how to deal with pain of any kind. That makes him really vulnerable to torture.

All those examples you mentioned are simply some creature comforts, or vital advantage in battle, so there is no sense to experience all of it. However, when Harry was training with Meciel, she made him feel pain from the illusionary curses, swords, etc. Remember Meciel's Effodio curse that tore through him in the beginning of DR? This is Fallen Angel who trained numerous hosts. She knows what she is doing.

On the other hand, if we go by Dresden, those mental exercises are apparently very effective. I mean Dresden was apparently able to ignore physical pain to the point that he collapsed simply because he was unaware how messed his body was.

And that was just shadow Lash, it is possible that the actual Fallen could teach even more effective skills. I would say Harry should be able to ignore pain FAR better than almost any mortal, even without Meciel there.

Ofcourse, while that might work against your garden variety torturers, Maeve has a LOT of skill in hurting others. Not to mention that her torture of Harry seems to be psychological as much as physical.

I do wonder what will happen with Amaris. Harry may have cared for her before, but after all the pain he has endured because of her betrayal, I am not sure it would be realistic for him to forgive her. Not unless she does something to redeem herself like side with him completely by defying Maeve and rescuing him or something.
