So, an oddity happened this weekend. Rorshach's Blot actually favorited two stories.

For those who aren't aware, Blot wrote Make a Wish (Mr. Black), Larceny, Lechery, and Luna Lovegood, and a whole host of other stories from entertaining to acceptable to flat out good. He also has something to the tune of 150 favorited author, but no favorited stories. Till now that is, none of which are in the library.

Why am I pointing this out and not recommending fics? Because its a curiosity, and because I haven't read either yet. They're crossovers and not really my cup of tea.

Thanks for not linking the stories, at the least.

The crossovers he refers to are HP/Justice League and HP/Discworld.

Discworld sounds too much like disneyland from my tastes, and I have no desire to read HP fighiting the evil forces side by side with superman while wearing a rainbow costume.

(The ficwad version is NC-17--I don't know if there's any difference. It's actually a little shorter going by word count--there could be an author's note discrepancy or something though.)

I had come across this Superman/Justice League cross somewhere, but I'm pretty sure I never got past the first chapter. I can't recall why. Maybe I'll give it another try, but I'm skeptical.

And I know nothing of Discworld, won't be reading that one.

Discworld is the creation of Terry Pratchett, one of the most prolific authors out there. It is very... odd. Flat, round, held by four elephants on the back of a giant turtle swimming through the stars. 'Watched over' by gods who are literally playing games with our lives, home to some of the most memorable characters out there. All his stories are humorous, and most are political or philosophical satire to some degree. And has sold something to the tune of 55 million copies of his books.

You really should try reading it. xP If nothing else good comes from this thread.

Linking the fics would have detracted from the enjoyment of sating your curiosity by finding it your bloody self.

Discoworld is definitely nothing like Disneyland. There's darker themes to some of his stories (one's called Carpe Jugularum, if that says anything to you) and they're seriously hilarious. He has some silly, cheesy stuff (a vegetarian werewolf, for example) but he's also got some really amazing not-cheesy/silly stuff. The head of the biggest city's night force is an ex-alcoholic and another one of the best characters in the series is fully capable of being evil on par with Voldemort (minus the psychopath part). She chooses not to be and struggles with it on a few ocassions.
He manages to discuss everything from equality and gender differences to chaos theory and economics. He does it with real, well rounded, and hilarious characters.

I'm going to have to check out that HP/Discworld when I get a chance.

Fucking hell. I was hoping this thread was just going to die quietly but it seems we're not that lucky.

Making a thread because a user on ff.net added stories to his favorites? Just... NO. And since the topic started, he's added two more fics to his favorites. We don't need a fucking breaking news bulletin.

If you want to discuss a fic or crossovers or some reasonable topic, fine. But no one should give a flying wet fuck when any user adds a favorite, no matter how popular they are or how rare an occurrence this is.

    LOCKED because I'm PMSing.
