Boring but a well done episode, with some good character development. Sam has one hell of an inferiority complex me thinks.

I think he's mostly just suffering from withdrawal. This stuff, and the situation, is turning everyone's minor weaknesses into major fissures. He is convinced that he's the best chance they have to defeat Lilith.

All the way up til the very end of this episode, I really had this small hope that Sam's ... corruption ... was actually a scam. I'd hoped Sam was going to murder Ruby when he drew her knife.

This is the first time I've actually wanted to hate Castiel. It's too bad that I can see and understand his actions. I'd probably do the same thing.

Did the show really go into commercial right as Dean throws a punch, only to return two minutes later to finish the punch and two more lines? Ugh, awkward. With that being said I'm getting tired of the Winchester on Winchester violence. It just seems to be getting dragged out, but I get where they're going with it. I really want to see an end to Ruby by the next episode. I can't take another season of this actress. I miss the actress who played Ruby 1.0. This one has still not meshed well with me.

Through this whole episode I really wanted to see what's up Castiel's sleeve. He's becoming a dick just like Dean said, since getting dragged back to Heaven. His whole shadyness looked a hellava lot interesting then Sam's heavy breathing and Dean with that random one tear rolling down his cheek. By the way what's up with Anna randomly appearing in one scene again, like last week. And like last week she didn't even contribute anything by appearing. I am interested in seeing what's going to become of her. She needs a purpose instead of summerizing the scene that happened before her.

Next week looks pretty intense. I can't wait for the climax of this whole thing. If this was late season 1 or 2 then the boys would have had Lilith dead as soon as someone said go. Instead we got a lot of brother fighting/pouting and crying. I'm exagerrating but still... the next season should have a no crying rule.

Same. I loved the idea behind Ruby, but the actress just kills it for me. She makes this stupid face for everything, a mix between bewildered, kicked in the crotch, and biting a lemon. I liked the blonde chick better.

Sigh damn this gets lonely, I actually really like Genvieve however if yall dont thats your buisness. As to the episode, it was exactly like I thought locking Sam up backfired spectacularly and I still had hope for a decent resolution but then Dean called Sam a monster to his face and that went up in smoke. Finally my suspiscions have been confirmed Dean is being plaaaaaayed like a three string fiddle by Cas and all of his feathery friends.

Am I the only one who enjoyed this episode?

I don't get why there's so much hate for this one. I thought it was way up there among this seasons episodes.

I liked Sams conflicting visions telling him what he was doing was right and wrong at the same time. And the implication that just maybe the angels were actually pushing for Sam to continue his work.

It made me want to see who was really orchestrating sams visions, his own mind or was it the angels messing with him. It seemed to me that cas was actually tossing sam around the room, or even making him hallucinate some scenes.

Perhaps to push dean to make that oath.

Correct me if I'm wrong, weren't they supposed to follow deans lead, even though they never do...

No no man you arent alone I actually enjoyed this too, and while I did think that Cas letting Sam out was just a big con to get Dean to play ball, I actually never thought about it being Cas tossing him around the room and giving him the hallucinations.

I enjoyed it too. Or, rather, didn't enjoy it, but am very glad I saw it. It wasn't a pleasure, it was wrenching and intense.

Dean and Bobby being complete pussies annoyed me. Dean looking constipated every time he talked annoyed me. Castiel being a dick annoyed me - but I could've dealt with it if the rest of the episode didn't suck balls.

Castiel intends to have Sam fight Lilith to the death, then use Dean to kill the survivor. Right?

We're all confident that the battle between Sam and Lilith will be devastating. The victor will be badly damaged. There won't be a better time to get rid of both major threats. That's why Castiel maneuvered Dean into that oath - there was no other way to assure that Dean would actually take Sam down, even monster!Sam. The angels' plan mandates that Sam get the biggest possible power-up before he's pointed at Lilith. Whether he drains Ruby or some other mid-rank demon, there's pretty much no chance that Sam will come out of the huge influx of demon blood and the combat without being corrupted.

Castiel and his cohorts probably intend to have Dean be angelically possessed for the ultimate battle. I wonder who will be the possesser? It seems to be setting up for either Gabriel or Uriel. I suspect it'll be Uriel.

You're a woman - you were just happy to see two pussified females with one dick in the same room.

Was that the prophet Chuck I saw in the promo for next week's finale? If so, then that's at least one redeeming factor. Although I'm bracing myself for the inevitable Bobby and Dean moment over Sam going darkside. I hope Dean doesn't do that one-tear-rolling-down-the-cheek crying he's so fond of.

Uriel is dead. Anna killed him. And speaking of Anna, what is her purpose again? She just showed up to be taken away again. And I totally agree with the Ruby 2.0 hate. She is really irritating.

But other than that I thought the episode was really good. It was seriously intense but that commercial break during the fight scene was really jarring. And did anyone else notice what Castiel said to Dean when they were in the junkyard? I think he said something like "you will obey the lord as you obeyed your mortal father". Wasn't that kind of weird? Is Castiel trying to make some sort of loophole that Dean can use in the future? Maybe I'm making too much of it but I just thought it was odd.

He also didn't say he would obey the angels, Just that he would obey "you guys". I found that odd too.

Hey, that talk about Lucifer's first, It was said that Lu corrupted a mortal into the very first demon.

You guys think that Azazel planned this corruption on Sam? To make him into someone that could break the last seal?

Yup. Lilith being the first mortal would be too easy. I think that Sam thought that it was him at first until he remembered Lilith.

Yeah that was odd. I have to rewatch that scene again. I know I'm missing something.

Wasn't Lilith Adam's first wife? If I remember the legends correctly, she wasn't human; she was from "beyond the world." She wasn't appropriately respectful of Adam, and he divorced (?) her and was given Eve. I *think* she was the mother of the Giants.

Or maybe I've been drinking too much cough medicine again. This damn 'flu is a pain.
