About 3 or 4 years ago there was a seven year Slytherin Harry Series. Read the whole thing on FanFiction. Think the Authors name is/was Voldemorta or Voldemorietia or something like that. It was a series that had Harry as the heir of Slytherin and with an OC character. Hoping someone knows what I'm talking about??

You already made a thread about this, didn't you? I think it's directly under this one.

I suggest using the search engine on FF to search for the author.

If you are looking for seven-year Slytherin!Harry stories in general, I recommend the series by Lightning on the Wave. The series starts with Saving Connor and involves a plot where Harry has a twin who is thought to be the BWL. All seven years are completed and very original. In addition, while 'Saving Connor' only has twenty-two chapters, the next books have upwards of eighty chapters. The only glitch with the series is the main pairing - Harry/Draco :( -, but if you ignore that, the actual plot and characters are amazing.

lol you got some balls. And no, H/D isn't the only thing wrong with the series. Far from it.

I tried to get through it and I consider myself a patient man, but I couldn't make it past the 3rd or 4th one.

One of my main gripes with the story is that magic, and the two main players (Harry and Riddle), are exaggerated to the highest degree. Harry is uber powerful right when he enters Hogwarts, and Plague!Voldemort is fucking ridiculous.

Also, Dumbledore is a complete bitch in this story. Now I do like good manipulative!DD and sometimes even an evil!Dumbledore story, but this is not one of them. I forget his exact reasoning, but he fucking goes around ambushing Harry inside of Hogwarts with his stupid phoenix web thingy. And that particular plot was drawn out far too long.

I forget about Connor and James and Lily for the most part, but I remember Harry's parents being such utter dicks that he uses some sort of dark magic so they forget about his existence, to the point of where they can't perceive him even if he's in the same room and talking loudly.

There are some decent original ideas in his series, one being Harry's "dance" with Lucius, but the cons far outweigh the pros IMO. Too much angst, too long, slash, bad characterization, etc. make that series pretty unreadable for anyone with a semblance of standards.

IIRC, Dumbledore was trying to magically bind Harry to Connor to protect him and give him his power or something. And Lily came off as being more of a villain than James and Harry stole her magic. :<

Yeah, and by third year I was getting sick of "Draco held his hand as they walked down the corridor."

-winces- I'll try not to recommend slash anymore. I'm definitely not a big fan of slash at all, but I admit there are stories of that genre that are good if you can stomach past it.

I thought Lightning on the Wave's series was very... intelligent, I suppose. It was thought out and had a lot of detail. The background stuff - like the political dances, the religious celebrations, and the actual characters - was quite intriguing. I hated how Lily and Dumbledore were; it was almost terrifying at how all of their manipulations and montrosity was for 'the greater good'. It was all very thought-provoking.

Relationship-wise, all of the shit going on between Harry and Severus stopped me from finishing the seventh book. I just couldn't read any more of Severus being insecure and Harry having to assure him of his love for Snape. Honestly, it was basically the earlier books in a different pov. (The earlier books were all about Snape and Draco telling Harry he's a good person and they love him....) For a period of time, I was worried I was going to choke on all the goddamn fluff and insecurity.

Hmm, now that I think about it, maybe you shouldn't read this series. :D

Lightning had a lot of problems, but its worst was that Harry was such a little bitch. I made it half-way through the fifth story before I quit and Harry still hadn't grown a pair of balls.

    Wah, wah, waaaaaa.

I did actually read that one, 'cause it seems that everybody recs it. It was... tiresome. I plowed through it anyway, but it was hard to keep my attention on it. I'm not a slash fan at all, but some stories are decent before they go slashy. I enjoyed the beginning chapters of Gypsy Caravan over on hpfandom--Harry's logic for going to the gypsy caravan was spot on for his age and developmental level. And the explanation for what happens to squibs was interesting.

I once enjoyed Lightning, it's one of the best slash stories around and acceptable to be recced on DLP, though it's style has really lost favor with myself and most of DLP.

Okay...Wtf? That crap is one of the worse shit I even glanced at(note: glanced since I couldn't read further than the discussion with the hat) not to mention Harry having a fit in the middle of potion because people were...mean to him? Did the author forget he was mocked and abused all his life and just now he would choose to scream his head off like a sissy?

I understand reading shitty fics, I had my fair share of those. But this one is just stupid.

Also, I can't tell who's worse: The author for thinking this waste of intellect or you for actually searching for it.

I hate when authors make Harry out to be some sort of sissy. For fuck's sake, he's Harry Potter. Surely, someone understands that Harry has a pair. I mean, sure he is pretty weak compared to Voldemort and Dumbledore, but he's got courage and he's not going to cry if you insult him. He's got more balls than that.

LOL @ this. Um...no, the only thing Harry will do is try to outwit them (and sound like a moron), and then gets pissed enough to try and smack them, but then he feels like shit later because he's a stupid sissy...ring any bells, eh? Oh, right, Canon!Harry. Doh!

Canon!Harry leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I can totally see him winning a duel against Voldemort, because right when he is about to die, he trips over his own feet causing Voldemort's Killing Curse to go right over his head, and his wand to send out a random burst of power that hits Voldemort. It's weird because I think I just combined the graveyard scene, and the scene in the book when Hedwig dies and Voldemort is flying after Harry...

I don't care that even grown wizards have trouble doing the Patronus Charm; Harry was a goddamn, weak pussy who only survived because apparently Fate hated Voldemort. I mean, I almost feel sorry for the guy; Voldemort almost got him on a number of occasions, but something always ruined it! :D
