In other news, Rahkesh reveals his latest animagus form.

    Things are gonna get violent.

You know whats funny I voted for this thread and the vote count nor the average changed any. And just to see if maybe it takes a bit to show up I voted in another thread and guess what it changed instantly.
Must be a conspiracy or some unnamed mod (who hates this story) has locked the votes for this thread to keep it in the recycling bin. 196 votes 3.46 average

Or how about after 197 votes split down between 5/5 and 1/5 the system averaged it out to 3/5?

And because of the massive amount of votes (almost 200), one person's vote = 0.5% overall.

Your vote means nothing. Just like Iran except the only restrictions we have is 'no porn on the forums'.

That's right General Custer. I'm looking at you.

Are you a fucking retard? You do know what the word average means, right? If the average of 196 votes is 3.46 and you give it a 5, it's not going to magically shoot up to 5 stars. This is basic elementary math, fucking hell. How old are you? 30? And you don't know how averages work? Do yourself a favor and sit in on a 4th grade math class. You might learn something.

And if you think I have the power to somehow magically lock the vote AND make it seem like I didn't, then you have the mental capacity of a 5 year old that went on the internet for the first time.

I just voted asshat and was under the impression that you were a simpleton. There's nothing wrong with being simple, there has to be a few floating around.

But to accuse the mods of a conspiracy to purposefully hold back a piece of poorly executed fan fiction from the archives smacks of stupidity and fanboyism.

It's a poor reflection on you, you should aiming to be just simple again.

The AMOUNT of votes did not change ass. I never said anything to even imply that I expected the amount of stars to change but the average gives a decimal figure which SHOULD change when you vote. I dont care if your a mod or not but maybe you should read these forum threads a little more objectively instead of ripping me apart without jumping to conclusions.

I happen to like this story and thats my opinion. That doesn't mean you should call me a simpleton because of that. You don't like it fine I could care less. Its obvious Sree doesn't like it, should he camp out in this thread and insult forum members because he feels like it? probably not but do I care? NO

While I know very little about these kinds of things, it could simply be that it takes a little time for the apparent amount of votes to update. It's now at 200, when I thought everyone had given their opinion by now.

I voted in two threads in the recycle bin this one and another. both did not say I already voted and only the other (besides this one) had an instant increase of votes.

DLP members who come here for the stories: not so many. DLP members who're following ASCAL: considerably fewer.

You want to split hair, split them to the root.

Fact remains that it's now at 202. Another fact: Sree is a mod (a super mod, for our quibbling friend), not an admin. I doubt he has that kind of power to begin with.

EDIT: just to experiment, I voted. It's still at 202, although the average is now 3.43.

Now I realise there are only two possibilities.

One: Sree froze the vote count by his evil powers, but not only did his filthy mind come up with such a devilry, he decided to do it on two separate occasions -- once right before you voted, the second time just now. Supreme infamy! Quite evidently, he unblocked it in the meantime so that his abominable action would not be suspected.

Two: by his evil powers, Sree cancelled some members' ability to vote, but exclusively in the ASCAL thread. These members he picked carefully in the memberlist. You and I, pontfirebird, were both chosen by this agent of Satan. Who knows who else fell, innocent victim of his spitefulness? I suggest we found a club.

Everything regarding this fic has been discussed through death so many times, I'm just going to say that I like this. I honestly do. Despite its various and many fault everyone is so fond of pointing out, I still like it. I even liked it after the third re-read.

Maybe I'm just one of those people who like it for no reason. Which is weird, since I usually have an extremely low tolerance for 'shitty' fics.

Does anyone know what Rahkesh's uber transformation will be, though?

-> I know I'm probably asking to be shot, writing that I like this Miranda's work, but I felt like it needed some love. I like it, after all.

No, and I don't think anybody does. That said in one of her authors notes she said a review on ff.net had guessed correctly, though there's no way I'm going to trawl through who knows how many reviews to try to work it out.

Quetzalcoatl. One interpretation of the Aztec myths would make it into a sort of über Death Dragon. At the very least, it's a feathered serpent having lots of association with death. As for what powers Miranda gives it or why the Elves will go apeshit, it's anyone's guess.

Not to give the impression that I have anything better to do, but could someone give me a basic plot summary of this so far? It seems like there are at least a few people following it still, and it would be much easier for starting to read now than having to read through this beast.

What is this stories current wordcount around, anyways? I'm going to estimate somewhere around 750k words, but I suspect it to be higher.

Assassin breaks into 4 Privet Drive, Harry shoots him with Vernon's service revolver (lolwtf?) then runs away into the Room of Requirements to train for months. When he emerges he heads off to an elite magic school in Canada (Canada is, as we all known, renowned for it's kickass-edness). He is taught the arts of blood magic, combat and string magic (no joke) and pwns in them all except for string magic (but who cares, it's the magical equivelant of arts and crafts anyway, amirite?) and makes friends with the vampires. Cue lots of shitty writing about how terribad magical Britain is and how everywhere else is superior, Harry's concerns that Ron's bigotry will end with him being a vampire slave (vampire's are allowed to do that because people are mean to them), then throw in some time-travel where they have fun curing the Aztecs of a disease.

Other key little pieces of story are Harry's OVER 9000 animagus forms and his struggles to unlock them; the author constantly engaging in literary masturbation at how cool the blood magic vampire is and he can easily kick Voldemort's ass, but is too cool to put much focus on him; a blood tree which will make an OMGWTFBBQHAX super-wand; Harry spying on Voldemort with Snake familiars and using them to destroy the horcruxes; Ron again; Harry evacuating everyone he knows from Britain; Ron doesn't want to leave because he is a thundercunt bigot; and, where I finally quit in exasperation, that Aztex plague is back in Britain, and this time with maor demons.

    Yeah. I reiterate, 1/5.

EDIT: Oh, nearly forgot. He re-christens himself Rahkesh Asmodaeus. Doesn't stand out at all.

Damn bro. I think I read this before, but it was on hiatus around the end of them coming back from the Aztecs, and when it was updated again, I noticed how much utter crap it was. No wonder I haven't read it.

Thanks for the summary though. I'mma rate this 2/5 now, because it seemed to hold my attention for a while and has originality mixed in with its bullshit.

Is it odd that I preferred Oz's snip to the actual story?

    Greatest summarisation in fanfiction.
    :awesome
