Original DD didn't really have the balls I don't think. Hippy DD atleast looks like he can get pissed off and rage pretty epically, the old DD was too soft I think.

Need Hippy DD to scream "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE MOTHERFUCKERS?!"

    Then he shall be epic.

Alan Rickman looks a lot like Bill Maher in that photo, at least to me.

I think just the fact it looks so dark makes it better than all of the other movies. I'm sick of the nice shots of Hagrid and couples when Voldemort and Bellatrix are out there kicking ass. I, for one, would much rather see that. However, I suppose a dark movie means we have to deal with more angst from Daniel Radcliffe. Lovely.

So, I just read this part of the Wiki page on the movie. I'm guessing I'm behind in the news and everyone already know this but I'll comment anyway.

Some changed parts are fine - like the last bit where Luna finds Harry instead of Tonks. Others, not so much. No Dumbledore funeral? Supposedly no final battle? I assume that must mean the Harry vs. Snape part, since the Astronomy Tower section is mentioned. That'll open DH Part 1 then, judging from the 'avoid repetition' part. All but two of the memories being removed is understandable but disappointing. All Quidditch does in this book is proved an outlet for the hormones - Hermione aiding Ron, Harry kissing Ginny at the celebratory party.

I'm getting a vague Northern Lights (or The Golden Compass for the Americans) feeling here. They left the ending out of that movie. Made me very unhappy.

    wait wat

In the book, Tonks found him because she didn't see him get off the train. Luna finds him by actually seeing him under, according to the Deathly Hallows, something that hides people from everything, including death. Though the Invisibility Cloak was kind of a bullshit plot device, probably thought up in the last book by Rowling, the matter still stands.

Am I going too far to hope that the movie is being changed for book 7 D=

I noticed that too but forgot to mention it. I'd say you're going to far to hope the Deathly Hallows won't exist. This'll just be another inconsistency, like with Made-Eye being able to see Harry under the cloak.

Perhaps she really didn't see Harry; maybe she just knew he was there... like if Luna had some form of seer ability.

Luna is not a seer. Luna is unhinged, not a seer.

Okay, but she looks like a seer.

Huh, I didn't even know this was in production yet. IMDB says it's coming out next week though. I'll be damned.

I have yet to be impressed with any of the Harry Potter movies, but then I'm not really a movie/TV person, so who knows.

Luna could be a seer - or at least have some form of seeing ability. Isn't it ironic the two people - those being Luna and Voldemort - who understand Harry best are both 'unhinged'?

Do you live under a goddamn rock? Seriously, where have you been?

I just dont understand why they didnt use Tonks to rescue Harry. Its not like they cut her from the movie.

Didnt know it was a mid-week release.

No, she couldn't. I'm pretty sure Rowling would have mentioned that at some stage. Don't make me get Taure.

I'm not saying Luna was a full-fledged seer. It is possible she has some form of the ability. It would certainly explain her personality and the way she always appears almost distracted. Also, the way she almost eerily knows just what to say and what's going on. And even being so in tune with death.

Perhaps Rowling was too busy writing the spectacular duel between Harry and Voldemort...? Sorry, my sarcasm seems to have a mind of its own when talking about DH. ;)

No, she's just fucked up in the head because she saw her mother die and her dad's a nutcase. No Seeing there.

This. Certainly there's nothing in canon to say that she definitely isn't, but there's no reason to say that she's a seer if we can explain her character in the same way we explain everyone else's character: as the result of their experiences.

With regards to the "smoke apparation" - it's not the movie version of apparation. In OotP we saw the movie version of apparation with the Weasley twins in Grimmauld place, and in the HBP trailers we see it with Dumbledore and Harry.

The smoke thing is clearly something entirely else created for the movie - a form of flying.

I'm looking forward to this quite a lot, and have been some time. I've enjoyed all the movies, though the earlier ones suffered in quality due to the child acting, they were still okay. As the series has gone on the child acting has got better. I've loved all of them since GoF.

I tried to watch Sorceror's Stone yesterday, and I was absolutely appalled at Radcliffe's acting. His facial expressions were basically grinning, glaring, cowering, and staring blankly/dumbly. I had to turn it off before I had muscle spasms from all the cringes. ;)
