Thanks, man. I keep going back and looking at Sobieski's pic, and the more I look at it, the more I find myself thinking she'd be an almost perfect Fleur.

Affliction and I have been doing our best to keep it alive. ;)

Do you really have to ask? I'd read that in a heartbeat. :D

Sobieski is actually an accomplished actress - you should've saw her in Night Train! She was fucking brilliant... in a cold, psychotic kind of way.... Either way, call me superficial, but I'd much rather watch have a hot decent actress play Fleur than an ugly one 'with charm'. I mean, for fuck's sake, it's Fleur.

Yes, I had to actively look to find a picture that matched Fleur, but the fact that I did is proof that Sobieski has the potential to be a great Fleur. Poesy, on the other hand, doesn't match the looks in any of the pictures on Google.

    Agreed.

    That's fucking sick.

Dude, you just read my mind from across the interwebs. I was going to post a few pics of Mélanie Thierry as the best replacement for Poésy. She's French, she's hot, AND she can act.

She's a bit old looking, but again - still better than Poesy.

Tammy Jones can play a transformed Veela; someone 'shoop some fireballs in her hands.

She does lack the "avian quality" that was mentioned earlier though. Her cheekbones are too wide, reminds me of a man actually. Otherwise she does have the pale looks that a Fleur is supposed to have, but I still think she's inferior to Sobieski.

Well, there's always Laetitia Casta, but she's too old for the part right now, me thinks... That, and she can't act that much...

Anyway, I would still choose Thierry. She looks the part, is native french, around the right age, and can act.

I always pictured Fleur as a teenage version of Natasha Henstridge, sort of a combination of Nordic and Slavic beauty (even though she's Canadian).

She looks like she should be riding in the back of a small yellow bus.

PROS : French. Undeniably hawt. Both seem to possess that 'avian' quality you guys keep bringing up.

CONS : non-existent acting career --> professional models =/= Actresses, not exactly 'well' known, not sure if they even speak English

Am I the only who sees a resemblance to Evangeline Lily?

EDIT: Nevermind. That's the only pic I've found so far that shares any resemblance.

I agree with Affliction: she looks to much like a man. Her features just don't fit.

She is hot, but if we were going along with Rachel McAdams-type looks, Blake Lively could easily qualify. I still think Sobieski wins.

Always thought she was built a bit more like Susan.

    *clears throat*

So, cutting to the chase - I'm writing a HF fic. Well, I'm about to, at any rate. Same difference. Anyway! I'm new to writing Harry Potter fanfiction, and haven't read a huge amount of it, although I am an accomplished writer in other, mostly original, fields. I want help. Why? To make it as good as possible.

By pointing out possible cliches, suggesting new ways to humiliate Ginny, possibly reining in the more rabid plot bunnies and feeding the malnourished ones, any one of you could be of help. Of course, you don't have to, and I'm not just here asking for that, but also to tell you that it's coming. And it's going to be damn good, if I get any choice in the matter.

I've already spoken to Lord Methene about this, but the more people who get involved, the more enjoyable the writing process will be. Just to be clear, I can spell. I'm not looking for a beta reader here.

On the current topic; hot blonde French girls are awesome. Even if they're not suitable for Fleur's role. Do not attempt to persuade me otherwise, or I will make you into an OC in NC-17 rated slash. Yeaaaah, I'd go as far as to write that out of spite. I'm generous with my flaming. <3
