Akatsuki's goal is to capture the bijuu, meaning that so far as they know Naruto is the last target.

Giving command to his superior makes a hell of a lot of sense given the "world vs. Akatsuki" strategy that they seem to be going for.

 

These old Kage represent the old ninja world that Naruto is trying to change.

I seriously doubt that he'd submit to any of them, especially given that fact that he's been given the "mission" to destroy Madara himself.

The only question in my mind is will Naruto show up to the summit himself and force things to a head or will he go with Team Samui to recover Killer Bee and prolong the inevitable conflict.

 

Actually, I think the mark he put on the Iwa nins foot was Hiraishin. I'm pretty sure he can do the move without the kunai. All he has to do is have that mark somewhere near or on his target.

I always asked; why does everyone think that there's a flash of yellow chakra while using Hiraishin? I always figured that Minato got his nickname yellow flash because he moved so fast that you could only catch of flash of his yellow hair.

 

Perhaps because that's how it's in the games? Well, it's not really a flash of yellow light, but meh...

 

Maybe the Iron Leader guy just figured we need a leader, so why not elect the one who is maybe the least willing to send Naruto on suicide missions/somewhere he can get captured by Akatsuki?

Okay, I was specifically disappointed that Minato's 1 vs. 50 fight remains a mystery. Using Hiraishin on one person just doesn't seem all that badass to me.

 

Yeah I know, they could have shown a bit more of it but I suppose they didn't want to overshadow Kakashi.

I'm almost positive the seal script he left when he touched the Iwa-nin's foot was Hiraishin. I think either Rin's got a really basic understanding of the technique which would make sense or she just meant transportation technique in general, which it is.

It was good to actually see something that wasn't just fanfic speculation though. Usually you hear/read about the seals being engraved on the kunai which I honestly thought was too time consuming to be practical, turns out its much more efficient than fanon makes it out to be. The little glimpse of it and lack of bright yellow lights was much better than what I was picturing in my head.

Anyways, we got to see that he was a pretty sick ninja even without Hiraishin, something fanfic usually downplays...and oh yeah, he didn't seem like an extra happy-go-lucky, ramen obsessed idiot either. Always a plus.

 

I've made plenty of posts elsewhere about how negligent the other Kage would be to give in and allow Danzou to lead.

My point was simply that Mifune's suggestion wasn't baseless, given that he doesn't have all the facts.

 

The Kakashi Gaiden episodes were some of the best anime eps in recent memory.

It was great to finally see Yondaime in action. The whole ordeal that Kakashi's team went through was a lot sadder than I remember it being when I read those chapters in the manga.

I teared up a little at Obito's death.

 

I'm so disappointed. I always thought that Danzo was Madara since he always has that side of his face bandaged up (the same side of the face that Tobi's mask has a hole for the eye) and they have similar hairstyles. Oh well too bad about that I guess.

I don't really mind the fact that Danzou was nominated as the leader. Naruto characters never made much sense and the story itself has always been subpar compared to the better fanfics out there. Really the only redeeming part of Naruto is
a) they are ninjas (though not really)
b) they have some cool jutsus
c) it has inspired some really good fanfiction.

 

For all the bitching we made about it, the motivations to choose Danzou are better explained this week. Unfortunately we see Naruto masturbating in his tent while fantasizing about Sasuke, but everyone else seems to have their shit together.

Yeah, because Danzou ordering Sai to kill Sasuke made so much sense in conjunction with Madara's plans.

And killing the toad that was meant to summon Naruto back to Konoha.

The Naruto fanfiction fandom is possibly the worst ever, and I have literally never once read a complete story that was better than what Kishimoto is writing.

Epic fail.

 

Probably one of the best looking and story episodes in the entire series, not with standing that it's cannon. And it did feel a hell of a lot more sadder, than I remember reading.

The newest chapter was okay. We did get to see Shikamaru lay down the law. Along with the reason on why Danzou should be the leader of the new "Alliance".
I pray that there will be tons of fighting in the next couple of chapters, considering the attack has begun.
