Bear in mind that Lincoln deliberately lied during his campaign promises, claiming to support whatever group's policies that he was meeting at the time. The written record clearly indicates that he stated that he was pro-slavery at one rally and Abolitionist at a different meeting. Moreover, Lincoln had the Maryland state legislature arrested and incarcerated without trial, for most of a year, before they could vote on succession. I remember at least two other Constitutional violations, as well - and it's been a long time since I took High School civics.

If Abe Lincoln is being compared to Gandhi, then it's possible that Kripke needs to spend more time studying US history. On the other hand, maybe this is some sort of "slippery slope" or "ends justify means" lesson?

 

It's possible that this episode will be a comedy one, which is what I thought when I first saw the casting call.

Damn that sounds awesome, I wish I was there. I went to the Comic Con on Thursday since it was the only one that wasn't sold out. I wonder if they showed a clip of season 5?

 

Sounds good, but how the hell are they going to top having Lucifer as the bad guy in the upcoming seasons? The only thing better/bigger would be them killing God.

Hope they don't slide down the same slope Buffy and the X-Files did. I'd rather Supernatural end early than for it to get old and worn-out.

Alright so for anyone who hasnt seen it this is the five minute preview that they showed of season 5 at comic con, its the best one I could find, as long you ignore the fangirls screaming you see lots of interesting things, like Chuck picking one of Cas's teeth out of his hair.

 

io9 did a really detailed article on the Supernatural panel at Comic Con. Some of the stuff is along the same lines as the link Cyclops posted, but there are some other details about Castiel's fate, and God's gender. The writers and producers also mentioned that most of them take the agnostic route when it comes to religion, which made me really happy. Like I said, it's an interesting article, but it's somewhat spoilery.
