You're forgetting that Voldemort was getting quite old, and couldn't move around as well as he could back in the day. ;)

You're forgetting that his body was technically about two years old when he died, and likely as not was healthier than a normal human body because it was artificially created.

Maybe Voldemort was unused to his new body and so his reflexes were off. However, I think Voldemort was just too shocked to move after Harry had blocked his AK once again. -shrugs- It's a stupid scene.

Can you imagine how fucking lame the last movies confrontation is going to be if they follow Rowlings shitty ass showdown?

I imagine they'll try to make up for it with good lines and an awesome scene between Molly and Bellatrix.

Wouldn't Bella gruesomely killing Molly be a bit too much for a children's movie? Besides, as awesome as it would be, it isn't canon.

In the book, Molly killed Bellatrix. That's what I was referring to. However, Bellatrix killing Molly would be a delicious scene.

Yeah, I know. However, the only way to make that scene awesome is to alter it to be more realistic, thus resulting in what I said.

Touche. Even without if the Weasleys didn't annoy me, I'd still absolutely hate that scene. It's not believable at all; I don't care if it goes with the whole love-and-family-over-power thing. Gah!

For DH specifically, my low point was Camping Scene #213 - specifically, the one after Ron came back, and before they visited Xenophilius Lovegood. It's not the scene itself that gets me (though it is boring); instead it's the fact that they were sitting there, twiddling their thumbs, after one of the more important moments in the series, "Ron Growing Up."

All that exhilaration from escaping the Ministry, followed by the depression of their new camping life, the parting of ways with Ron, the reunion...things have turned the corner, haven't they? No, no, we must have MORE camping! To me, that best represents the tone of the middle section of DH. It was so soft and empty that it's a wonder the middle pages didn't collapse under the rest of my hardcover's weight.

But even more than any specific scene, I wish DH had shown more of the stuff happening away from Harry. True, it would have ruined a lot of symmetry to break away from the 3rd person limited narration just for that book, but man. Seeing Order members and possibly even DA members actually doing things would have helped a lot with the pacing. My faint hope is that they actually attempt this for the DH movies, but I suspect they won't.

I both love and hate the fact all the books are Harry's POV. I love it because it keeps it simple. When I read the Eragon series, it annoyed me to have to read about something exciting happening with Eragon and then backtrack to something terribly boring with Nasuada. I hate it because it gives the impression that everyone is sitting around waiting for Harry to stop Voldemort. Yes, he's the Chosen One, but the Order does exist and people like Lupin and Tonks are fighting. Plus, I'm sure Bellatrix would make for a great perspective. :D

You would hope with the directors creating two DH movies, that they will be writing more fighting scenes - dark, believable ones. Maybe they could add Greyback attacking Bill at the beginning of this one...?
