Don't Text and Drive is a a Welsh anti-texting while driving advert that has apparently gained international success, so much so that I've read rumours that it may be adopted (or at least adapted) for region viewing in countries other than Wales.

Still, I'm mostly posting this because it's one of the few things that has really shocked me when I watched it recently and it's a pretty good message to pass on.

The video itself (Warning, very graphic).

Well, I was bored after the actual action. Funny though how everyone dies but her ;)

The real problem is letting women drive. You can cure the symptom, but it's not getting to the root of the problem.

It's a sad state when you have to have PSA's telling people that they shouldn't be writing while driving a car. But given that such a state exists, this gets the message home as much as anything else is going to...

Was the girl yelling because she couldn't send the text message or because of the crash? D:

Actually, it reminds me of this awesome fake ad (in french) for Facebook. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IANVArD7yH0

Well it certainly conveys the message although I thought it was pretty cheap to include the two little children.

Reminds me on this video, it is practically a compilation of several don't drive fast ads:

This video certainly boosts my confidence in the capabilities of my seatbelt. The slow motion headcrunch certainly showed just how secure those things really are.

Annnnd this is why manual transmissions are still relevant. It's a lot harder to text when both hands are occupied.

Reminds me of Final Destination. I was just waiting for her to wake up and cheat death. It would be a good trailer lead in at the theater. Needs more blood though, and maybe a decapitation by flying hubcap.

Funnily enough, I just went to see the latest one in the series yesterday and came out feeling paranoid as fuck. Awesome series.

Texting while driving really isn't that hard. Just make sure you look at the road more than at your phone. People say the same thing about driving with your hands not at the 10 and 2 position, and I don't know anybody that does that.

I can't imagine driving safely and texting at the same time. I zone out on long drives as is, much less focusing on a phone.

Driving and txting is actually about to become illegal in NZ.

In Germany, it is illegal to do anything with your cell phone while driving. That includes texting, music and using gps navigation. But if it's not a phone but something else, like an mp3-player, you can do it.

So, navigate with an iphone is a nono, with an ipod touch it's ok.
