One of my favorite stories was ruined for me when Harry got a tattoo...I think it was phoenix wings on his back? I can't stand to read it anymore.

That's kind of a stupid reason to stop reading one of your favorite stories.

Not necessarily, I've had one or two stories where just a line about the character can completely change my minds-eye view of them. This can completely put me off since I cant look at the character the same way so cant enjoy the 'movie' of the story that's going on in my head.

    Long hair and earrings.

Can you imagine how much of a douchebag Harry would look?

    I mean seriously?

I'm willing to bet a million dollhairs (lol u c wut i did thar?) that the tattoo was mentioned in that one scene and then completely forgotten about for the rest of the story. If something like that ruins an entire story for you, then the story must not be very good. A measly tattoo? Long hair? Earrings? Get over it.

Just because you can ignore having your personal image of the character ruined doesn't mean everyone can. That's not the only reason to stop reading when lines like that come up either. It's also a good sign that the author is about to turn his/her story into a heaping pile of crap very soon.

No, I don't believe it has. And I wholeheartedly agree. Fucking annoying when an author does that through the Entire story. once or twice, just to piss someone off is OK i suppose, but... ya

Also, Hair and Tattoo's rank right up there with three chapter name brand shopping trips and magical billion compartment live-in trunks. I have seen tattoo's done right twice, and hair very slightly more than that, but still very over-used.

Goblin will executors are a (minor in my opinion) by-point, and easy to ignore in view of the oft mentioned Harry-Becomes-Goblin-Friend-For-Showing-them-basic-Curtsy Schtick.

Also, Keep your Music preferences to yourself, we don't care.

Also on the Twins topic, they are referred to as Gred and Forge a grand total of once in the entire series if I remember correctly. They do not go around introducing themselves that way, people don't call them by those names, and if they did it would be more likely to result in confusion or annoyance than a smile or a laugh.

    # The Pepper-Up potion is an instant cure to the common cold, not an energy-boost potion.

    # Unless it is the central focus of the story (e.g. Azkaban!Harry), do not put your character through a period of extended imprisonment (the infamous Voldemort captures Harry and doesn't kill him for months on end sequence). It breaks the pacing of the story completely.

Amendment on Law 29: Any semi-independent and powerful American Intelligence gathering facility/agency/person is a oxymoron in itself. Any French/German/Russian Intelligence gathering facility/agency/person should only be allowed to help Harry if a ruse to kill the British hope. Any other facility/agency/person of that kind from Europe will by default be trying to suck British dick and therefore not give Harry ' superduperharrypottertraining' . And finally, any African,South American, Asian facility/agency/person of that kind is only allowed to get Harry Potter killed.....brutally.

Did I go overboard? Haha, I meant to only do the American bit but i got on a roll. I was shocked by how many baaad fanfic's I know of this kind. But through all of this I still read Fairgold. I gave myself the political immunity to say something this politically incorrect. Goes with being a Muslim African living in Europe... and everyone's allowed to hate on the U.S. of A

Still didn't make sense as a law though.

No sense? First of all, it's not a law in itself. It is an addition to the 29th Law to make it more specific.
    XXIX.
The Wizarding World of England has been around for at least a thousand years. Therefore, foreign nations, most which are much younger that England, are not superior to England and do not impact heavily onto modern Wizarding Society within England.

The most used, and in my opinion the reason for this law, is the extreme Americaloving going on. Making the Harry Potter series synonym to Mission Impossible or James Bond is not cool. get it?

What? How is that not 'not cool'? Bond!Harry would be great if written well. And it's a damn shame that it never has been.

And on that topic, I have yet to see an Indiana-Jones!Harry, which disappoints me.

You do realize James Bond is British, right? Beyond that, Silens has already said everything else. In other words newb, you're wrong.

Nope, don't got it. Can someone point me to all of these Mission Impossible/James Bond stories that are flooding the system? I can't seem to recall a single one.

Of course I've seen the Harry goes to America/Japan/Canada/etc. trash out there. Most of it sucks. If you've just come here to bash America then piss off. If you have legitimate point to make and can actually back up your tripe then do so and quit being dork. LURK MORE!

    I got one.

    LXI.

If you are skilled enough*...Fuck Potter Law**.

Sometimes, it's okay for Harry to wildly suck Cho's massive cock; it's cool to give the beaver some books when someone dies (as opposed to money, which is normally given to the people that the deceased actually cared about); Snape most likely did, in fact, sample Lily Potter's honeypot before James; and Harry's trunk, while not equal to Moody's, is definitely better than Ron's - that's a reasonable amount of creative room to play with.

*We'll let you know if you have the skill.
