I saw tits in the trailer. I'm watching at least up to that episode.

Is that Robert Carlyle I see there?

Still, looks pretty bland to be honest. I'll give it a few episode once it airs before I judge it properly though.

This looks like my kind of SG, I was always a little turned off by how happy and perfect everything was in SG-1 and SGA.

I did notice they managed to include Carter, again (god I hate her character, talk about mary sue).

I don't think I'll like this series based on the reviews offered. I enjoy my characters to be the McKay type and the look at such advanced technology and the world that the characters are thrust into.

The blurb I read said that the first two episodes were basically a two-hour pilot broken in half. I think I'll record the first part and watch it and the second part together.

It's actually a three-parter. The first two hours air Oct. 2, the third will air on Oct. 9.

Alright so I guess I'll go ahead and post a review, I have to say I really enjoyed this quite a bit more than I thought I would, far more than the Atlantis premiere. I found the way they kept jumping back and forth between the present and the past very interesting. There were parts that while I didn't mind them at all I was honestly surprised to see in a Stargate series, much darker and edgier than both other series ever even came close too. The characters were all excellent, my two favorites Eli and Lt. Scott were excellent. Eli was very funny he could have been a pass or fail but he really got across the whole average nerd out of his depth very well and I loved the character. Rush got a little better towards the end but all in all while the actor was great the character came across as such a creepy asshole it was hard to like him. The senator came across as that stereotypical politician asshole but I had a lot of respect for him there at the end. All in all I really found myself drawn in by this premiere and I'm very excited to see where they take this series, it has a lot of potential.

I loved this episode, but I am a 'Gater fan. I came in expecting a new Stargate feel - the dark and gritty aspects - but with that ol' Stargate innateness that I like. I got it. It's early days, but the two-part pilot was great in my opinion, and I can't wait for next week's.

Eli, Scott, Chloe and Rush definitely win out as my favourite characters. Greer is a funny one, and I find myself liking his hot-headedness. Telford, Camille, TJ and Young need a bit more to do first, but I like them thus far. All in all, good stuff.

Loved it. I must agree with Krogan on his analysis of the characters and that I too respected the senator a lot at the end there. I think they went a bit overboard on some things, like the state of the ship and their plight, but they more than made up for it with those periodic stops at pre-placed gates.

I kinda need a charcter list: outside of the about 6 main characters, there seem to be A Lot of civilians around when you consider that it was an offworld, top-secret science base. Not a whole lot to see or do for the tourists compared to any number of other planets. The Senator and Chloe's presence made sense - but who were the other non-uniform, non-labcoat personnel?

I loved a lot of it. Rush is a jerk, but he's the smartest person in the group. He's going to use that to leverage a lot of priority adjustment and resourse allocation in his favor.

I'm deeply irritated that the Colonel was somehow up and coherent after what sure *looked* like a skull fracture. And a seizure.

Wonder how they intend to explain the mysterious disappearance of a US Senator and his daughter. We don't know who else is among the missing, but it'll be impossible to gloss this one over so no one notices. If they go with the classic "light plane crash lost at sea, no bodies found," the wife will do her best to kick off a major S&R hunt.

Some of the non-scientist civilians are from the IOA, I think.

All in all, it wasn't GREAT but it wasn't BAD either, so I'll continue watching.

A few things that annoyed me were the attackers (Lucian Alliance?) coming out of nowhere and taking out the X-304 and base with relative ease. Where did the Lucian Alliance get that capability? And how did they know there was a Tau'ri base there or even why did they feel the desire to attack?

Not overly important, I suppose. I guess they just needed a reason to do things as they did, but I would have preferred something a bit more clever. Though perhaps we'll hear more about what happened in later episodes.

Also, the ninth chevron...how did they work that out? From my first run through it looked like he just somehow used the computer to tell the gate that it was dialling from Earth. How does that work, eh?

Either A.) the PoO for every world is really the same just a different symbol for each or B.) each specific PoO has a distinct 'signature'.

B has problems though. The Earth symbol they used was from the gate imported by Ra. Now, we can assume that any PoO will work from whatever planet it's on, that doesn't matter, but they all still have a specific signature. Okay.

Still, they would have had to use the Terra Atlantus symbol, with iirc was a circle above a rectangle or something like that. Not the pyramid with the sun above it, that was Ra's gate. The Ancients would have been using the Antarctic gate when they launched Destiny.

But, eh, it's not overly important, just something I was left wondering about.

Also, was checking out other SG forums, and man they're all up in arms about the very brief sex scene. Honestly, do they expect all characters to be like Sam & Jack?
