Yet another fic by Opalish. It’s short and a little goofy in places but I laughed my ass off. Here’s a Harry Potter version of The Office*.

    *(The show, not the fic-that-must-not-be-named.)

I actually liked this one a lot more than "the Wendell that wasn't". The author's amazing really... 5/5

-runs off to read all of his/her's other work-

I didn't like it as much as the Wendell story, but it's still very funny. The author has a gift for brilliant, unpredictable dialogue. There's just no telling what direction things are going to take.

    4/5

The author has knack for writing humorous one-shots but when he writes for a couple of chapters the humour steadily slips out. Good story though, can't really see the association to the tbs show "The Office".

Obviously it has to be like The Office because it's in an office.

I didn't think this one was very funny. The Wendell story was better.

    3/5

Did anyone else get visions of The Luggage when reading about that desk? Give it a year or two's time and it'll have sprouted a hundred little legs and be careering about after Harry and eating Dark Wizards.

After reading it growl, yeah, I thought the desk was inspired by Rincewind's luggage.

I was laughing within the first hundred words, and never stopped. I love crackfics, and while this isn't quite off the wall enough to qualify, it's exactly what I look for in a humor story. Full marks.

Not bust a gut funny, but certainly adequate for the library. 7/10

I liked it and may end up reading it again later. Nice one shot.

Speaking of... where can I find Rincewind's Luggage?

I found this quite funny. There were a couple of parts that I laughed out loud, pictuing the situation, so a job well done!

I hadn't read this particular story, even though the author is on my Favorites list. I loved Wendell and Gossip Queens, and this is in the same vein, though as has been pointed out, not quite as funny and not completely crack. Coincidence?

My favorite from opalish is The Day Harry Potter Retired, though the hints of HHr might have a little to do with that. And looking thru his/her published stories, I now realize there's a lot of angst and a lot of slash lurking there. Huh.

Anyway, this is a solid 4.5/5 from me, rounded up because it made me chuckle. The sentient desk reminds me very much of the old Ford Anglia, and this is just slightly too risque to be the kind of thing Rowling might've written if she were a little more off-the-wall. Just look at the loony enchanted items she sprinkled throughout canon; this desk ain't far off from the biting teapot and the regurgitating toilets, just to pull a couple off the top of my head.

True, but let's not forget Vimes' own piles of paperwork for an even better parallel.

Anyway. Nice little fic. Not exactly a belly buster, but I was chuckling throughout, and it's well written.

One of my favorite one-shots. Nothing amazing, but one of those fics that can really make you picture what's going on while you read. The characterization is excellent, and it makes you chuckle. 4.5/5 rounded up since I've reread it.
