Regarding the amulet; we've heard demons like Azazel, Lilith, even Ruby say that Sam was 'special', that it always had to be him. Ruby expressly said in the season 4 finale that he had it in him from the beginning, whatever it is.

In any case, since the whole Yellow-Eyes plot and every demonic scheme there in the series apparently always had to do with freeing Lucifer, it's safe to assume that Sam being 'special' involves him being closely tied to the demons, if not the Devil himself. If Sam made it, being so closely tied to Hell and especially if the Devil is involved, then it's not a huge leap of imagination to assume that it will react somehow to the presence of God, being that he's the supreme holiness of all holy things.

We still don't know what makes Sam so 'special' in the eyes of the demons, but I don't doubt that his uniqueness has something to do with the amulet's powers.

That's not entirely true, Bobby gave it to a 10 year-old Sam, who then gave it to Dean. Bobby said it was "very special."

The carving on Dean's rib cage is at 2:11 minutes:

When Castiel said that the carving hid them from the angels, I ... assumed ... that Castiel could still find Dean through the Mark Castiel left when he pulled Dean out of Hell. Or did the Mark fade or something in one of the episodes I missed?

Castiel mentions specifically that it hides them from all angels. And that he can't simply, well, probably find him, though Bobby cuts him off.

:| It was a pretty awesome episode over all. But I have to wonder, when are Sam and Dean gonna stop doing the Break up make up dance and just grudgefuck already. >_>

Seriously. They're as bad as school kids. :|

On a more serious note, Castiel seriously makes that guy look like an alcoholic. :|

Though, I do have to say I hate the fact that they level you with no suspense as to who is going to turn up. The rotating intro intro showing every character thats involved kinda annoys me. :|

If you're referring to Lucifer's Vessel (I didn't catch the name,) then I simply figured that The Fallen couldn't fit in just anyone. Besides, it's always about the blood, right? Jimmy is (was?) a Nephalim, or descended of one.

I assumed that Lucifer would either be in some incredibly powerful meatsuit or in someone with Angel blood. Besides, if you were powerful, and evil, enough to willingly invite Lucifer to possess you, then you'd be too selfish to share. If you were *powerless,* broken, then you might agree to anything in the hope to make it stop hurting.

She offered him revenge on God for allowing his family's murders.

OK, who's messing with Sam's mind now? I'm finding it difficult to beleive that it's actually Lucifer - for one thing, surely there would have been some sort of prophecy that stated that the Fallen has to jump around? No, I think this is some upper level demon trying to recruit. Maybe Lilith. Or Ruby knows how Sam thinks.

Dean doesn't seem all that out of character about leaving Sam behind. The brothers have hurt each other so much for so long.

What's interesting is that Sam is trying to get clean with the intent of getting back in the fight when he feels he can trust his own judgement. Dean has simply given up on him.

Finally we have some humor again. Cas' and Dean's night out was awesome, finally some lulzy moments.

Raphael was a huge, huge, disappointment. We see our first arcangel and he turns out to be so flat. Wtf? They could have had me up there and I'd be as impressive. I am talking about the acting and the demeanor here, not the special effects.

Sam as lucifer's sheath. Should have seen that coming.

The blond was so effing annoying, she didn't even die in the end.

Still, Dean and Cas going to a whore house - epic.

I loved the look Raphael gave Dean when they trapped him in the circle. It obviously scared Dean because he said, gesturing to Castiel, "Don't look at me, it was his idea."

The look on Castiel's face was hilarious.

It was like Dean was the comic-relief this episode while Sam had the more serious story-line.

Wow, really should of seen the Sam thing coming. That was a fucking epic end to the episode.

I didn't find the whorehouse funny at all, really.

I didn't mind Raphael that much, tbh. I thought he was decent. Nothing special, but decent.

Yeah, the whore part? I was just kind of embarrassed for everyone involved. Like, really? You don't think this is a little, I dunno, campy? Meh. Chuckles all around, I guess. I know I was ashamed to be watching for a little while.

BUT the rest of the episode was aaaaawesome. I don't know how they pulled that whole Sam thing on us, but I was so tickled to be surprised. Ah, this season has such great things in store!

Sam was the ideal vessel for Lucifer should have been obvious. I didn't see it coming though. >_>

So far, so good. The only thing I'm hating on is the fact that I can storm through the episodes like I did the previous seasons. (Literally, I watched all 4 seasons in 2 weeks.)

I've watched up to episode 18 of the first season, and so far the series is excellent. It's a little too much monster-of-the-week, but there's enough of the overall plot, in the search for John Winchester and the mystery of Meg Masters, to compensate. Just when it seems to be settling into a formula - burn the bones, house is haunted - things change. The writers have the best sense of timing I've ever seen.

The first season is very segmented with each week the brothers fighting some new monster. But the transition to season 2+'s style is very well done. Season one was a character building season whereas the following seasons have much better exposition and plot direction.

Eh, I disliked season 1 tbh. I quite the show about 3 years ago, after watching S1, because I thought it would be more of the same.

I picked it up about a month ago, and dear god was it amazing.

I really want to see Kripke set up a Winchester/demon showdown, with the possessed person being a pregnant woman.
Bet even the Winchester brothers will hesitate to knife her. Creepy and cool.
