He's using Ubuntu, and I forget the get commands for the dock/theme setup.

The dock is Avant Window Navigator for linux (Ubuntu distro in my case.)

The background is just something I found on Deviant Art while looking for a picture linked from a different site that had died. >_> Sauce if you want it.

As for Ubuntu.... Ubuntu is insanely useful and pretty easy to learn. Unbelievably customizable, all free and open source, yadda yadda...

Dude! That's the best Conky (amirite?) setup I've ever seen. I tried to make my own once, and failed horribly. (I think it had something to do with the .conkyrc I tried to modify...)

    Sauce please?

Indeed it is Conky. Found a tutorial to put gmail count on and decided to finally give Conky a go. Provides the .conkyrc file and instructions on what to modify.

    Thanks a bunch.

Edit: I had a small problem with not being able to see the text on a brighter background, so I Google'd. This is amazing!

Alright, so now that I'm home and have access to Windows (yey games!), I'm looking for the Conky matchup for it. Basically I want vital statistics (CPU usage, Memory usage, network traffic stuff), date (calendar is optional), time (in multiple timezones preferably, but not a requirement), and weather. Also, how the fuck do you get rid of the recycle bin? I don't want no fuckin' dock, but I want to get rid of that last icon.

    In the meantime, screenshot:

Rainmeter, I think, works along the same principles.

Yep. Rainmeter is exactly what you're looking for.

To get rid of the recycle bin from the desktop, you can 1 - right click the desktop and select "Hide Desktop Icons". That'll hide all the icons which you may not want.

Alternatively, you can click Start, click Run and type GPEDIT.MSC, then press Enter. On the left column expand "Administrative Templates", click on Desktop. On the right column find "Remove Recycle Bin Icon from Desktop". Double click on it. A property window will Appear. Select "Enable option", press OK. Right click your desktop and click refresh desktop. Voila! :awesome

Thanks guys, Rainmeter does indeed look like what I want.

I knew about that, and I guess it would get the job done...

THAT is fuckin' awesome. thanks Oz. Only one addendum for anyone else:

You'll want to expand "Administrative Templates" under "User Configuration", not "Computer Configuration".
