I didn't actually realize that was the season final till now. -_-

My personal prediction of how it will begin next season is:
I think it will start with Beckett not talking to Castle and Castles new book out and annoying the hell out of her with the unwanted fame/ribbing by co-workers.
Then on a case she ends up having to call him (she hits a wall/it involves him etc) he spends the rest of the time trying to get her to forgive him.

Alright. Initially, I loved the show, but over time I ended up getting tired of it. Seeing no overreaching story line, and so on. However, with the last few episodes I have been definitely getting back into it.

I was quite surprised as well, at this being the season finale, while its sad that I won't be seeing it again for a while, I am looking forward to seeing both the main characters roles developing more.

Overall though, my favorite part about the series has to be the excellent acting and characterization. Fillion plays his part perfectly, especially for his size. Its definitely nice to see him again, after Firefly. Pity he hasn't been in more shows too be honest.

On top of her amazing looks, Beckett plays her part incredibly well as well. There have been some interactions between the two that were just perfect. Especially around the poker game.

Alexis, if I already didn't like Fillion or Katic so much, Quinn would be by far my favorite character in the series. Cute, adorable and smart. Just has all the good qualities one could really want in a daughter. She plays her part extremely well as well.

The mother. This is quite possibly the only character I dislike in the series, but she definitely does her part in the acting. I dislike her character, more than her acting, though she is starting to bother me a lot less lately.

The other guys working with Beckett do well as a support cast, but nothing really sticks out about them.

Overall, I love the show, and I definitely would like to see it continued.

Well, the first episode of season two recently aired, and I like it.

Much of the same, in all honesty, though the fluff loving part of me did love the end of it. Frankly, its great to have three TV shows that I highly enjoy all airing at the same time.

    Looking forward to more.

Usually, I don't enjoy cop dramas. However, this has to be one of my favorite TV shows to watch mainly due to how the characters interact with one another and how they develop.

The plot of each episode plays a secondary role in my enjoyment.

First would be drooling over Stana Katic.

You know when it comes to television I look forward to, this show is really nearing the top of my list. I watch tons of other shows and this one's not terribly original, groundbreaking, or all that different from others. But I'm always wary of the offputting crappily inserted angst or realistic humanized drama. Whether it's something like the Mentalist needing a cry over his family, or a plea for sympathy in a no-win situation for NCIS, or House's weekly struggle with his personal beliefs, heck even Bones with the drawn out unresolved sexual tension... it just adds a hesitancy to my enjoyment of the show.

But Castle has yet to falter for me. It's consistently shiny, happy characters for the vast majority of each episode and it always ends on a sarcastic humorous note. Essentially, it's just entertaining and leaves me in a good mood. Great characters and great character interaction. Plug that onto a standard formulaic cop/detective format and you got me. Looking forward to more.

Beckett really is all kinds of hot. And I can't stop singing Castle's action music either. (If you don't know Castle's action music jump to about 8:10 in this clip.)

I was real worried about this one - but it's actually pretty fun - doesn't hurt that the leads are pretty good (although obviously I have to give the edge to Fillion in the badass part, although Katic isn't bad).

Never really noticed the action music before, but I'll keep an ear on it in the future.

I really enjoy castle. While I'm not a cop show fan, I think this is a fairly original ideal, and the actor who plays castle really makes the entire show.

Some of the other characters (castle's mother and daughter along with the other detectives) add a bit of off-beat humor to the show, but make no mistake, it's Castle that makes the entire show.

Also, didn't the main character star in Firefly?

The music's not really anything special. But that clip and what's stuck in my head is Castle (the lead) actually singing his own action music. "Peh-ne-ne-ne-ne-neh-ne, peh-ne-ne-ne-neh. Peh-ne-ne-ne-ne-neh-ne, peh-ne-ne-ne-neh." It's aided by the way that exact music is used seconds later. And he briefly starts to sing it again in the scene transition. "Peh-ne-ne-ne-ne-neh-ne, peh-ne-ne-ne-neh."

Makes me think of Calvin and Hobbes commenting on life being more interesting with a musical score and laugh track. And of course getting it stuck in my head helps too.

And yes, Nathan Fillion will always be Captain Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly. Captain Hammer's pretty memorable too.

Says it better than I could've!

I love this show. Tonight's episode was fantastic, with the banter between Castle/Beckett and Ryan/Espisito. The whole ongoing bet story was brilliant in my opinion, and I can't wait for next week's!

Beckett is indeed totally hot, by the by.

Just can't find anything wrong with it. Still loving it.

Considering its starting with all the other 24 episode seasons, does this mean that this season might be 24 episodes? Or is it still 11/12?

I really can't decided whether House, Supernatural or Castle is my favorite show. They are all absolutely amazing in their parts.

I've to agree - it actually reminded me a bit of your stories. Just some fun and entertainment without being a comedy per se.

Been a while for the thread, but Castle's still going strong!
Consistently funny and all that jazz, with this week's most recent episode having some brilliant Castle/Beckett chemistry, particularly at the Heat Wave launch party and the end of the episode. The simultaneous phone conversations were a genius way to cap off the episode, and I highly enjoy it.

And next week, did I spot
A certain someone dressed a certain Browncoat in the promo? Or am I seeing things?

Stop jerking off over Firefly, ffs. I made very little sense for those 14 episodes, and was a tremendously shitty movie.

If you want to be different by liking something shitty, there's this book/movie I know...

I don't know how asking if I saw Nathan Fillion dressed as Mal again on a different show is jerking off, but I'll take your book recommendation and say that if you didn't make sense of Firefly, Twlight would be perfect for you. Or, you know, I'll tell you to go fuck yourself while you're at it. Whichever.

Yeah, he made a Captain Mal cameo. Next week is the Halloween episode after all. Nonjon, my family have been singing that action music ever since that episode. I love this show.

Is anybody aware that Hyperion released Heat Wave by Richard Castle on September 29th?

    I think I just had a nerdgasm.

    Here's the Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Heat-Wave-Richard-Castle/dp/1401323820

Apparently, it was written by an anonymous author, but everything from the dedication through to the acknowledgments is written in character, aside from the acknowledgments including the main staff and cast.

    I'm so buying this :awesome

Oh god can't unsee, don't want to.

I'm loving Castle, though how much of it is Nathan Fillion being great eye candy is debatable.
