How is Sasuke still fighting? He expended a huge amount of chakra fighting the Raikage, and now it appears he's going to take on the Mizukage? wtf lol. Sasuke is apparently the new Naruto when it comes to chakra capacity.

Also, what is the Yoton? I don't remember anything about the 4 tails, and it's hard to tell from reading the small ass pages.

Edit: Apparently, it's been changed from 'lava release' to 'corrosion' in Viz. No idea, but it did melt stuff.

When did we see Kiri's Jinchuuriki? I don't remember that. What manga chapter is this?

 

The yonbi is only ever mentioned in passing by Kisame, who admired his ability with elemental fusion jutsu. I think it's the databook that elaborates on that and says he used 'Youton' jutsu (lava release). If anyone can get a copy of the raw manga/databook could they check the kanji used to see if they're the same?

Also, we now know the answer to the most important question in the manga. The Mizukage spits rather than swallows .

 

This week on the anime they did 'Tales of the Gutsy Ninja: Jiraiya Ninja Scroll'.

Its episodes 127 and 128, you should be able to find them practically anywhere after a google search but here's a link anyways. Link

I found it a bit simplistic at some points but its a decent look at Jiraiya and his motivation for travelling the world and teaching Yahiko, Konan and Nagato (more than half of episode 128 involves them). There's a brief bit where Hanzo names them 'sannin', there's a bit of history on how he came to meet the toads and at the end of 128 there's a pretty warm bit with Jiraiya, Minato and a heavily pregnant Kushina.

It might not be amazing if you're not really a Jiraiya fan but I reckon its worth a look in any case.

 

Roushi was the old man jinchuuriki that Kisame beat. He had the four tailed monkey and was able to use the lava element because of it. He was also once an Iwa ninja.

As far as I understand it, Roushi and Mizukage's moves are pronounced the same, but Roushi's uses the kanji for lava while Mizukage's use the kanji for dissolve or melt.

Slightly different, but it's fairly clear that Mizukage isn't spitting lava. It's more of an acid.


Good to see Sasuke using that old stand-by: The Art of Run.

I think they were pretty wise to not try to flashback in the middle of the Jiraiya/Pain fight like they did in the manga. It probably wouldn't have flowed very well. Having said that, there are a few things I absolutely despised about these episodes.

First off, the way Jiraiya "finds" Myoubokuzan. No, just no.

Second, they say over and over again how the Sannin fight Hanzou and Jiraiya takes in the Rain orphans in the Third Great War, when the manga timeline makes it pretty damn obvious that it should have been the Second. Otherwise the Third War would have been more than 20 years of constant fighting, with Jiraiya taking time off to both raise three random kids (During a war? What the fuck?) and then returning to Konoha to teach Minato (at age 10).

That made me rage a little. It would have been fine if they'd said nothing about which war it was, like in the manga, but to be blatantly wrong... ugh.

Mizukage VS Sasuke: Sasuke uses Susanoo to defend against the Mizukage's Lava Release: Dissolution Technique¹, but takes a hit from Hiramekarei.
He flies back and is locked in a room with the Mizukage

It looks like the Mizukage has two kekkei genkai: something called Boil Release
She uses this to create a strongly acidic mist from her mouth to try and melt Sasuke...
Out of chakra, his arm begins to melt, but at that moment Zetsu uses his Spore Technique³ to grow out of the Mizukage's body and suck up her chakra. Sasuke is revived with fusing chakra and the locked room is destroyed by Susanoo.
They escape - Zetsu binds the Tsuchikage and his attendant, but the Tsuchikage says: "Shall we get involved too then"
They escape from Zetsu. A technique is fired at Sasuke that would disassemble him at the molecular level, but Sasuke has disappeared.

Then the Raikage and Gaara enter the conference room

Then Madara appears, carrying Sasuke on his shoulder

I came here to tell you a story about the "Eye of the Moon plan"

He get's saved. Go figure. At least he made a fool of himself for thinking he could go up against all of them.

 

What's wrong with Jiraya finding Myoubokuzan? I thought it was cannon and that there were a couple of frames in the manga that implied it.

Two bloodline limits? I thought that was something only seen in really crappy Super!Naruto fanfiction.

Yay, Sasuke finally got owned.

 

Woot, I can almost see the Zetsu love. That guy needs a hug, seriously. Great to see that he's pretty badass too.

And Mizukage, two bloodline limits? Meh, I doubt that. Feel more like Hijutsu (secret technique) to me.

So in the end, Sasuke managed to injure one Kage before passing out. I was amused, but now I'm a bit apprehensive about the inevitable EMS upgrade.

Yeah, let's just keep handing Sasuke more powers.

 

Its either that, or Madara's gonna tell them how Naruto is is critical to "the Moon's Eye Plan."

and that leads to the "Uzumaki Naruto Must Die" arc.

My money's on the power-up thou.

Madara: "Long ago, the Sage of the Six Paths saved the world from the Ten-Tails, but because the beast's power was so great, the Sage put the demonic power inside his own body, making himself a jinchuuriki. Then, he created the Moon and sealed the Ten-Tails' body there. (the story was much longer, but I can't remember the rest ><) Then, as his own death approached, he divided the power into nine pieces..."
I'm sorry, but I'm telling it extremely simplified
