Eh, while I highly enjoyed the episode, House just won't be entertaining if he stops being a fucking douchebag. I'm also unsure about him going off vicodin. Those pills had such a great part in the show.

Bah I give it 1-2 episodes before he starts to backslide.

Fuck. <_< Wish I hadn't started House yet, and wouldn't start until it's finished. I hate having to wait for updates. D:

The opening episode to the new season was epic. Especially the way he's such a cunt to the other lunatics at the beginning.

    House: "Cut your wrists? Suicidal?"
    Psychiatrist: "Greg!"
House: "Oh, did I just break a rule? I'd hang myself if I thought I'd broken a rule."

And the second episode was good too, although there was too much angsty self-doubting shit with Foreman. House being the one to solve the case in the end with no one knowing was :awesome

Hmm, I do wonder if we are going to be seeing the last of 13 around now. At the end of that episode, it almost looked as if things were returning to the old times.

I mean, Taub is gone, Kutner offed himself. 13 got fired by Foreman, and looks like those two are done.

Eh, who knows. They could both magically come back, I guess.

I think thirteen knew it was from him, otherwise she would have checked it with Foreman first.

New Season is great, Episode 1 was one of the most enjoyable episodes so far, although i disliked the ending in episode 3, with the Chase and all.

OK, I have been strangely reluctant to start watching the new season of House, but episode 3 was just awesome, one of the best episodes I have seen. It looks like for now they have the old team back together, and I really can't wait to see how the dynamics have changed.

Question: If you where the team, what would you do?

    I'd save him.

A world leader owing me his life? Hell yeah.

Yeah, sure. If somehow saving his life made him enter a binding legal contract with you.

Most likely he'd be like "Thanks... Bye."

A normal Head of State, sure. A tyrant though, from what I understand [from TV...] do this kind of stuff.

He killed both Mufasa and Darth Vader. Bastard.

... I'd probably do something similar. But, fuck, he made it easy for Foreman to figure it out.

It was probably the moment that made me go Holy Shit! the most in House; I thought Chase would try something, but I didn't think it'd be that, nor that it would succeed. The impending shit-storm is going to be interesting to watch. I wonder how Cameron will take it when/if she finds out...

As to what I'd do, I'd save the man. I truly believe that I cannot knowingly take a human life for any reason.

And yet, you just doomed thousands of people.

The question isn't about if you should treat a bad person, it's about if you should save one bad person and thus risking the life of many innocent others. Saying "I can't kill someone no matter what" is simply you shaking off responsibility.

Episode 3 was fucking awesome. House being completely wrong about the neighbor, Chase killing the guy.

Taub and 13 will be back.

    You're retarded.

Sorrows: I'd neither save him, nor kill him. I would do nothing, and watch him die.

I did HIGHLY enjoy episode 3, the moral dilemma was excellent. Ending was good as well. I didn't think that Chase would be the one to do it. Nice guilt trip on Foreman as well. Thought that was excellent.

I did think his reaction was good and realistic though.

What this one said. Fucking awesome, and really dark - felt dark anyway. I always liked Chase for some reason (The Australian snark probably), and the twist with him killing Vader was unexpected and brilliantly handled. If it doesn't come back to bit him in the ass later on, I'll be pissed.

By the by, loved House's Dexter impersonation with the needle in the neck. Classic.

I wasn't serious, as this post would imply:

Also, your own post was retarded. By doing nothing he will go to another doctor, who will presented with the same dilemma. Again, you're shaking off responsibility and saying "someone else do it".

I thought they made the decision a bit too easy, with the planned genocide and all that.
It would have been harder if he was just the usual kind of dictator - killing a few opponents, suppressing minorities, etc.
Or if the people who replace him are potentially much worse - in this episode it was a real happy end with the moderates coming to power and peace talks and everything.
That would have really fucked up Chase - killing the moderate one and the hardliners coming to power.

On an unrelated note: I hope the writers didn't just bow down to the drugs-are-always-bad pressure when they took House off Vicodin. If you have chronic pain, you should treat it to have some kind of quality of life left. Is the pain suddenly only psychological? After not being able to sleep because of the pain, he is suddenly alright after he starts practicing medicine again? What will he tell patients with chronic pain? "Oh, it's only in your head, just go to a psychiatrist and not a doctor."
I hope that it turns out that the hallucinations had psychological reasons and House continues to use painkillers. Otherwise they really sold out big time.

It's not really a sell out. House was addicted to Vicodin. Treating your pain is fine, but being addicted to them isn't.
