Well, Air Pt. 3 was okay, decent enough I suppose.

And I'm extremely intrigued by that thing at the end. That didn't look the same sort of design as Destiny...I'm sure we'll find out more about that eventually.

Yeah, I admit I was puzzled by that spaceship at the end. Also, I thought it was impossible (like, really dangerous) to detach from the main ship while in Hyperspace, no?

I liked the third episode anyway, more so than the pilot.

Destiny doesn't travel the same way the rest of the ships in SG do. It's not traveling through hyperspace but instead simply going FTL. It doesn't need to open a hyperspace window to go through, it just cranks up the power. Thus I would assume thats why the ship or whatever it was could leave.

Be interesting to see who it belongs to.

Perhaps the ship is a hint at one of the enemies they will have to contend with on their journey.

So was that a shuttle going to find the 2 clowns that went to the other planet?

I don't think that the "shuttle" for lack of a better word has anything to do with the people stuck on the Destiny. If you run over to hulu or somewhere else and pause it when you get the close up of it it's pretty distinctly different from the Destiny (eg. its a hitchhiking alien :D ).

Destiny travelling FTL without going into Hyperspace is mindboggling.

    The closer you get to Lightspeed the more energy is required, and when you hit Lightspeed the energy required becomes infinite, what gives. ;_;

Could be through sub-space. We know spacetime is a bit wonky there too, so it could be they jump into that rather than hyperspace. Either that or the Ancients eventually did manage to build an Arcturus Project that could work, providing enough energy to power the FTL drive.

As a side note, the weird warping upon exiting FTL is likely because of extreme acceleration/deceleration and the inertial dampeners not being sophisticated/fixed enough to eliminate it all.

Perhaps the way the ship moves faster than light is similar to how warp travel works? Just throwing it out there as an idea.

Is the tunnel effect they're getting just for looks, is there an explanation for it, or is it perhaps a hint as to how Destiny moves FTL without hyperspace?

So what do you folks thinks happens to the two "lost souls".

Five bucks says He dies, she finds alien tech, turns evil, and becomes there foe.

    Or maybe not?

Hopefully, the writers manage to avoid *that* cliche'. I'm really tired of "one of our own is turned against us."

I'm sticking to the "Lifeboat automatically going back for the redshirts" theory.

I want to see the episode where they find the cache of make up.

One of the few things nBSG got right in my book was that most of the cast looked
(bad for tv) made up like they did not have access to make up.

Do they do that on Lost?

Well the Losties had a plane full of makeup, only forty people and less than that number of women who wanted to be made up... then they found the hatch fully stocked of supplies, and then most of them died, went time travelling, got off the island...

Then again, most of the regulars killed off were women at the start. Makes sense now!

PS: Who cares? SGU may be striking for dark and gritty blah blah, but they're not BSG and they're not striving for being too 'real'. Makeup's just a peripheral thing to ignore/enjoy either way.

By the by, I liked the new episode. Drama in the Desert did drag a bit, but in hindsight, I liked it more than when watching. TJ knocking out Telford with that sedative was a highlight, as with Sgt. Riley's grump about having no more water for the day after Rush drank it.

Oh yes, an evil geologist. How... terrifying.

Good character developement for Lt. Scott and Eli. I liked how Eli sent the search party back through the gate to stay and wait, even after that marine chick volunteered to stay for him.

That only happens to characters we have some attachment to, like Weir from SGA.

I'm getting this feeling that the planet those two went to is occupied by the "evil aliens", thus announcing SGU's presence to them, and that coupled with the scout-ship...

I'm a bit surprised that with all the unnecessary "contact dialing" going on there was no real effort at all to save, or even talk to, the redshirts.

She could get Terra-kinesis and make earth spears and ride around on rocks and stuff! IN SPACE!

Actually, there was. After they got the wounded scientist and Rush back to the ship, but before the search and rescue squad came through, Eli was shown standing in front of the active gate, calling their names into his radio, asking for them to respond. They didn't, and the gate shut down.

Recent episode was good, look forward to Pt. 2 next week. I have a feeling that Destiny knows what it's doing.

My only major gripe is Young, with all that was going on, going to visit his wife. Dude, things aren't going well, why doesn't he, oh I don't know, talk with some of the other geniuses around the SGC like Carter or McKay?

Not that I want Carter or McKay to come and save the day or anything, but I'm just saying...
