    Summary:
Twenty-five year old Healer Ginny Weasley is in for the ultimate mystery when a patient's mysterious scars lead her to a long-guarded secret surrounding a dangerous and deadly force. She must now work with the Aurors, including ex-boyfriend Harry, to solve the mystery before it's too late.

    ---

It's an OK story...but the H/G angst is annoying as all hell. They should just shag and get it over with already. For an H/G story, it isn't all-encompassing, but I'd almost rather there be no pairing. Also, the writing is actually pretty good and the OCs are semi-believable.

This is the first H/G story I've read in YEARS, and I haven't died yet.

I do have to keep taking breaks to read Wastelands of Time though...

It sounds too much like the average shitty scifi novel to me.

It's been awhile since I read this, but I think it's probably one of the best stories on that particular site (that's not saying much, granted). I like adult Harry/Ginny as a pairing when done decently; I'd say I found it borderline in this story when I read it. At least it's not storybook "true love," but a relationship between a pair of flawed people.

Still, it would have been a better (and more believable) story if...
Harry had actually cheated on Ginny rather than build a whole angst-fest over her catching a glimpse of someone impersonating him. Fallout and reconciliation from real guilt over fucking up would have been far preferable to the whole "mistaken identity" trope, which honestly shouldn't fool anyone with three brain cells in a world of Glamour charms and Polyjuice.

Not as bad as it sounds but I'm only 5 chapters in. Written in first person. "The main paring is Harry/Daphne with a possible expansion to Harry/Multi with Susan, Hannah, Fleur and Tonks being candidates."

I really like enchanter for what it is. It may be ridiculous and a bit convoluted but it's also highly enjoyable and I find myself wanting more (reminiscent of Thief of Hogwarts). The magical schema is a bit wacky as well with the White/Gray/Green etc but it is fairly well thought out and I find myself liking both it as a core idea and the execution of Harry's ramblings on the topic.

    4/5 from me.

    Why Almost Recommended

AHatSC is an average crossover that would be better-than-average if the author had decent beta readers. The concept of Xander Harris and Wednesday Adams as Gary Stu and Mary Sue somehow works for me.

The story is not Harry-centric but major portions do take place in Hogwarts: another reason why the story is not one that would normally be submitted for consideration in the library (actually, that would be the cherry on top-- grammar is an issue (Mortisha instead of Morticia to give an example)).

Rating: If submitted to DLP as a library-potential story, I would give it 2 stars because an HP character is not the central character. That being said, it's a decent read if you have time to waste.

Someone to Love by The Ferryman

Summary: Honks. what if Ginny died at the Battle of Hogwarts and Tonks lived? Riddle is dead, the battle won, but the war is not yet over. Two grieving people have one chance to clean up the MoM for good, the clock's ticking, while caring for a baby half-werewolf.

    ......

I know, I know... it is a 'T' rated fic which is listed under a 'Hurt/Comfort' sections, and with a summary that you see, not even on every second, but pretty much on almost any other 'Hurt/Comfort' type of love sickening H/G(Hr) featuring story... but only this one, so far, isn't... !!11 o_O

I'm honestly too tired to leave a proper review, or a better explanation to why I thought someone in here might like it, but rest assured it is actually a very nice read, despite some OC behaviour on Harry's part... (though I'll be first to admit I've read book 7 only once and it was so long ago that I can hardly say if his character is anything like the canon Harry prior the epilogue of DH).
But still, the fic has a reasonable pace, pretty good writing style from technical point of view coupled with good grammar (though coming from me, that is not counting for much), and most importantly it Is rather interesting, though the plot hasn't progressed much so far.

... eh, and did I mention that it is a Honks story?! No?... well it fuckin' is :awesome, and so far it shapes out to be the first good one with the pairing since... since ever...

Perhaps I should warn you, that while reading at first, you might encounter some strange WTF moments(two at the most... I think) belonging to the 'cliche list' of unexplainable happenings that suit the plot but should NOT have happened, that almost made me hit the red button in the first chapter, but the author addresses them later in the chapters, so do not be overwhelmed by your bad author detector going crazy sensing another 'teen-author-needing-our-young-boy-hero-to-become-the-president-of-the-states-and-to-him-it-actually-seems-logical'.

Because despite having over 37k words, it still is in it's 3th chapter and there isn't quite enough to judge on whether it's one of those really good stories you simply can't wait for an update to it, or a McDonald's sandwich which never looks as good as the one you've seen on the advertisments. Though I'm certainly leaning on the former rather than the later.

A nice little one-shot that I'm sure would send Taure into an aneurysm of rage at the improbability of the premise being canonical. It stars Harry and Dolohov having a nice little chat post-DH.

There isn't enough of the story itself to justify placing in the library personally in my opinion, but it does make for an enjoyable quick read.

During the summer after the Tri-Wizard, Harry is faced with the reality he has more on his shoulders than just the title Boy-Who-Lived. An unlikely alliance promises him help in understanding his role, but the cost is not common coin. Post 4th, mild AU

    Its a political Harry/Daphne story.

I found some ideas a bit contrived at times (the line curse) and there are some cliches, but overall its fairly well-written. I hope it turns out well. I've yet to read a really good Harry/Daphne story, other then an one-shot from DobbyElfLord.

The characterizations are some what refreshing because they stick to canon more than most (and the author states that the romance will be realistic, and slow developing, however, Daphne's moment of weakness in chp.4 is kind of unexpected), and I especially like the Hermione/French analogy, however, the author has a habit of abandoning stories as soon as she/he loses interest.
    3/5.

    I too found this refreshing.

She did finish Grimm, an impressive piece of work, so give her a little credit. This story is a little more linear and less lyric than others she's written. It has elements in common with Jeconais's White Knight, Grey Queen, though grittier and without the saccharine romance and weird Ginny threesome action.

4/5 from me, mostly because I'm expecting belleradh to hit her stride, as she did with Grimm.

    This was my first thought.

I suspect that for too many people, this fic is going to rub them the wrong way, solely for being another indysummer!Harry fic. But I'm holding out hopes that while yes, it is that, it's what said fics should have been.

As Pers says, it's grittier - no immediate talk of 'family' and nonsense of Ginny. Daphne is supposed to be a bitch at heart, not just the ol' "image at Hogwarts to keep Draco away..." Likewise, Mr. Greengrass didn't start this operation out of the goodness of his heart.

So yeah, I'm enjoying it. But it's goint to be an uphill battle. Still, I think belleradh is up to the challenge.

I don't see it as another indysummer!Harry fic mainly because nothing Harry has done is independent yet, really. He was kidnapped, locked in a room, told to study, and finally in chapter 5 he is allowed to go to London for an afternoon, honestly it seems like Harry is starting to suffer from Stockholm syndrome...

On a completly unrelated note, is anybody watching the Boise State/Nevada game (for those in the US and interested in college football), Nevada refuses to go away! What a game, last night Texas/Texas A&M tonight this, what a great start to the weekend (end random, off topic rant).

Fairly interesting start so far. Good writing and dialogue. Few bits and pieces that are neat, and few bits and pieces aren't.

The two things that bothered me the most were in chapters 1 and 3.
Harry was skeptical of his "captors" but when explained of their "good" intentions, he never asked/demanded his wand back. At the very least it would've been a sign of good faith.

The other was the Hermione discussion, where it was said that Harry would've failed if it hadn't been for Hermione. This is obviously a debate of opinion, but while Harry is lazy (I claim Ron as a major influencer, but not the sole in this trait), he isn't at Crabbe/Goyle/Flint intelligence (the ones who were held back, that I recall). He would've passed, no doubt, but gotten As for the most part (Hermione or not, he's brilliant at practical DADA - see Patronus, OWL result... Conversely, he'd have failed Potions, or barely scraped an A in the OWL)

Neither are particularly damaging complaints/bothers so I'll still be reading for a time yet. This does boil down to a post-GoF indyfic origin at the moment (though somewhat different, as sirius points out) and oh so many of started well and turned out rotten, so this could go either way. But I'm cautiously optimistic. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Scraping a 3.5 at the moment. Too early to really tell.

It is so much like indyharry stories it isn't even funny. Only diffrence; it isnt indyharry story.
it is barely readable at best for me. I didn't see any new thing on this story.
    2.7/5 for writing
