DDDDD= I've never read My Immortal because of all of the horrible things I've heard about it, and after seeing the first few minutes of that video... well, I can definitely understand why now.

Ok, the narrator really is bad, but I liked the tombstone of Dumbledore and if they have a decent story there (and drop the narrator/ ban him from any speaking role) it might turn out nicely. If they screw Canon and go for harry/Luna, I will watch it

The fact that you watched the whole thing amazes me. I have never read the story, and after a few seconds I felt slamming my head on my desk.

 

Making a movie out of some shitty fanfic like "My Immortal"? It's ridiculous. Which crappy fan fic are they going to turn into a movie next? "Draco Trilogy?" "Rose Potter?"

I am going to take a look at that piece of work. Just to see how low people can go to make a trashy piece of fanfic to come to life. *waves peace sign*

Ok, I'm not going to knock the animation. I mean if it was say, Wastelands of Time, or Knowledge is Power, I would probably be pretty interested in seeing how it turns out. The storyline and narration ruin it though.

 

What bothers me the most about this is the artwork. It's barely a step above reading a comic book - although I must admit, I'm suuuuuper impressed by their ability to make characters' eyes and head move. Hell, there's more action in the PotterPuppetPals clips, and that's done by one motherfucking person. This is team of four.

But whatever - they're actually trying, while I'm criticizing, so whatever. I guess between Monty Oum, the Asian Only Known as Zhu, weebl, and the shit-ton of HP art on DeviantArt, I thought that whatever outfit finally stepped into animated fanfic waters would know to swing for the fences. Oh well.

 

We can hope though, think what HP fanfiction was like when it first started. This could be the first step, or I could be being waaaay to optimistic lol.

 

I'm gonna say fanfiction should stick to a written format unless for some god forsaken reason someone gets a decent budget to produce a decent animation. Or a professional gets a large amount of free time.

Props to the guys who put in the time for this I guess... I've never read the fic and the trailer didn't do much for me but, hey I'm just sitting on my ass reading fanfiction while they translate it into a (probably shitty) movie.

 

It was worse than putting Tea-Fu oil in your eyes.

I tried to read My Immortal a very long time ago, feeling it was important enough to garner my hate; I was not prepared for the level of rage inducing fail.

I managed to watch the whole thing, though. +1 Manly Patience points to me.

If done right, animated fanfiction movies could be really good. It probably just needs time to get there. Maybe Taure's stages of fanfiction apply to animators too?

I did watch a couple of minutes of the My Immortal youtube link, and just closed the tab. But, yeah, a Denarian Trilogy movie would be awesome, though again it would be very easy to screw that up.

Make A Wish would also be fun to see in movie format...
