Aka, ones you've enjoyed. This is also, ostensibly, to give me Christmas ideas, but more generally should be fun.

    Enjoyed:

Grand Theft Auto 4 - First game I bought with my PS3, lots of fun, even if not my favorite GTA.

Dragon Age: Origins - The end game pisses me off but there's a lot of fun to be had in this and it's got replay value out it's ass, which is a failing of GTA4.

Yeah, that's it. Oblivion grinds my nerves and inFAMOUS was repetitive to death, which are the only other games I have atm. :p

    I intend to buy a PS3 soon.

    How's Uncharted 2?

    Uncharted: Drake's fortune
    CoD4:Modern Warfare
    CoD: Modern Warfare 2
    F.E.A.R.
    Resistance: Fall of Man
    Guitar Hero 3
    Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
    MGS4
Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction
Half Life 2 (The Orange Box)
    Motorstorm

Haven't played Uncharted 2 yet, but everyone I've spoken to has agreed that it's amazing.

    I thought Infamous was awesome.

Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, and Infamous are probably my favorites among the ones Ive played.

Got Wipeout Fury this week, am quite enjoying it. Bringing up some good PS1 Wipeout memories too.

(Just looked it up - apparently it's download only, so won't work as a gift).

I've also quite enjoyed SW: The Force Unleashed. I'll second the Ratchet and Clank recommendation (though it has its annoying points) and COD4 is a given.

Fallout is meant to be good, but I guess you might not like it if you didn't like Oblivion. I quite liked Oblivion in a "I could kill a week playing this and still have not got anywhere" kind of way.

Of course I'm just waiting for FFXIII and FF Versus XIII (Versus looks better so far, but we have no idea what the gameplay will be like).

Demon's Souls. Definitely look at reviews and gameplay videos for this one, it is usually loved or hated.

Valkyria Chronicles. Slightly real-time srpg with tanks and flamethrowers.

Disgaea 3. If you liked other disgaea games you can't go wrong with this one.

Resident Evil 5. If you want to play Resident Evil 4 - co-op edition.

Metal Gear Solid 4. Don't play unless you played all the other console Metal Gear Solid games.

    Uncharted. It's raining men.

It's got a couple good DLC games like Megaman 9 and Siren.

Alot of problems with ps3 games is that alot aren't really worth buying, renting is good enough.

    infamous. medium length, kinda repetitive.

Mirror's Edge. Somewhat stupid design choices in enemies and level design.

Took the words right out of my mouth, now that I thought about it.

Another great thing about PS3 if your a Final Fantasy fan is you can download them from Playstation network, sure they look like shit, but its still fun as hell.

I'm pretty sure that FF Versus XIII was stated to be an ARPG that plays similar to the Kingdom Hearts series. As for my recommendations:

    Demon's Souls
Both Ratchet and Clank Games (can't say for the Download only game)
    Disgaea 3
    Devil May Cry 4
    Batman: Arkham Asylum
...and those are the ones that I have played excessively. I mainly use it to play my PS2 games since my PS2 broke. I am planning on getting the God of War I and II game combo thing.

I'm going to have to nth Demon's Souls here. It is a truly amazing game; when it doesn't get GotY, I will be disappointed because I think it actually deserves it.

    Other suggestions:

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger (might want to wait for Continuum Shift, which should be coming out sooner or later)
    Heavenly Sword
    Disgaea 3
Prototype- the story missions really, really suck, and they have a difficulty curve that could only be described as "schizophrenic," but screwing around in that game is extremely fun, especially when you've unlocked all of your powers.

The major knock I saw on Borderlands was that you can't snipe due to some glitch..

..you can snipe. you can snipe damn well.

Borderlands is great, except for all the epic gameplay it lacks a lot of plot-content.

Xiph refuses to get Uncharted for some reason. :\

Demon Vigilante: Street Fighter IV is better than BlazBlue.

I haven't played Street Fighter, but I enjoyed the fuck out of BlazBlue, so I put it on the list.

EDIT: BlazBlue DOES have far too few (playable) characters, and even with Continuum Shift adding two, this will still be a problem (it will only have 14 after Hazama and Tsubaki). I should try to get into Guilty Gear.

I suppose I could acquire it, give it a go. I already have Guilty Gear, though. ;)

I do not usually like racing games, but I got out Colin Mcrae Dirt 2, definitely my favorite rally game of all time. Very fun to play, especially if you throw in a couple drinks. The only shit thing I found was that the only way you can play multiplayer is via LAN or Online. That sucked.

Other then that to tell you the truth I haven't played many games on PS3, besides a bit of FIFA with mates.

Wow, if you take what Yahtzee says as an actual review you're probably the most easily influenced person ever. Yahtzee does a comedy show, and he's funny but as far as quality reviews go he's rather lacking.

tl;dr Yahtzee is not a proper reviewer.
