The story needs three things: 1 - a third party that has been hoping to find the elder wand themselves. 2 - a Harry that's focused on one thing only and 3 - Fleur Delacour.

If the Aurors were his personal army then they would have been fighting alongside the Death Eaters to begin with - and Harry would have probably destroyed them with his insane-godlike-powers.

I see your point about them wanting to police the murder, but I honestly think that it would probably be reconsidered if he killed Voldemort.

I also see your point about Fleur.

 

I think it would be original if the story started after his fall with Harry trying to regain all that he lost. His getting to the top before the fall can be explained in flashbacks along with exactly how he fell.

 

My honest suggestion as a reader/Audiance: Instead of thinking whether to start at Harry's height or Fall, think of a proper plot. When I say plot I mean a detailed thing with the whole chapter layout and everything.

Don't start with just a concept. It often leads to fail. Its like writing a fic just to justify a pairing, which is more fail.

Again, unles you're one of the best authors around and can captivate your readers with your ass, concentrate on plot.

The other option is a pure character development fic. Correct me if I'm wrong, but, I don't think you were aiming for that exactly.

[Off-Topic Rant] A very good example of an excellent author just going along with concept alone is Fosfor/Case13 in Naruto fanfics. A lot of good quality fics going exactly no-where. He even has a 100k one shot pending on TFF. >_>

I like this in general but as to why Ron is immediately dropped at the beginning I will never understand. Unless it is based on pure Ron hatred which is ironic since he would most likely support Harry in doing the necessary to stop Voldemort.

It should also show a more conflicted Harry who is driven to take that wand. Justgoing after it because dumbledore said so will not make him immediately ruthless. He should think that this is his only chance.

Whether you believe canon-Luna really believes in Snorkacks et al, or sorta believes and also marches to her own drum, you can't deny that she's a damn sight more fun to hang with than any other chick in the whole series, with the possible exception of Tonks, but Harry isn't around Tonks enough to say for certain. And there's also no denying that Harry felt better about either himself or the situation in general after every conversation he had with Luna. Put a price on that.

I can't argue that. I have read maybe one harem fic that didn't leave me wondering why I wasted my time. Well, a couple did give me a boner...

Now, on to the matter of Luna:

Each female character can bring her own positives in Canon. Luna's fun to be around, Hermione is a warm and friendly figure, Ginny is generally supporting, and so on and so forth...

Of course, they can also suck hard. Luna can be irritating if she gives out a random tidbit when its not something needed at the moment. Hermione is a perfectionist who seeks to be always right, and Ginny has little to nothing that makes her stand out as a human being.

In conclusion, you lot owe me back 5 minutes of my life that were spent reading this thread.
