Heh, I doubt that Meciel would be reborn to Harry and Amanda. Unless Shezza is going to write a sequel starring Meciel Potter seducing her daddy.

That said, this segment did leave me confused. Damn you Shezza for leaving an ambiguous ending to a story that is being released in segments of rough drafts. The best guess I have for now is that Meciel's sacrifice will somehow get her booted back towards Heaven. I think it's more than plausible that God or an Archangel would use the safety of Harry's eternal soul (or whatever it's called in Dresdenverse) as leverage to turn Meciel back towards the side of Heaven.

Shezza, out of everything you've written, this is the best scene (IMHO).

I think you need to take the word `lover' in a more flexible way... Their relationship is hard to describe.

I don't mind it. It's the best `anti-hero' I've ever seen. The change feels genuine...

Also, it's implied that Harry got Meciel's powers. I don't think that can be described as dwindling.

I don't find that horrifying at all. In fact, I quite like it...

It could also be really funny. Especially because it is Amanda. Especially in the context of what Meciel and Amanda went through together. And who Amanda's father is.

It would also put an interesting twist on why Amanda can wield the sword...

That's just creepy. Also, I maintain that Meciel and Harry's relationship isn't sexual. It's something else.

This could also be a good way to go.

Meciel just dieing, while sad, could also make for a good ending.

I don't think Harrys soul could be bound any more to Meciel that it already is. Didn't he say at one point that she pretty much owned his soul?

 

Yeah, but that was while he was bound to her through the coin. I always felt that that meant something more like she could take his soul whenever she wanted - if he were to throw away the coin or something, it wouldn't apply. Since he had no intention of doing so, she pretty much owned his soul.

Now that the coin is destroyed... I remember reading somewhere that in the Dresdenverse, the Fallen are bound within the coin, but in Shezzaverse, the coin is only a link between the Outside and the mortal world. If that is the case, then I don't think Harry would have any connection to Meciel anymore.

Especially since Meciel says after she understands all about the Prophecy etc. that that life is past now. I don't think she's coming back to Harry...

Which would be pretty sad. I hope that doesn't happen...

 

I disagree. I think you might have misinterpreted what Meciel was turning away from.

She turned away from the bright light, and if we assume that light to be God/heaven, then......where's she goin'?

 

I really don't want to see Meciel dead but this is infinity better idea than her being Amanda's daughter. Beside Harry has already one daughter who is trying to seduce him .

 

Then she would come back to Earth, and that would be just awesome. But it doesn't solve the problem of any connection to Harry, unless God somehow connects her to him or something...

But don't get me wrong, if that is the case, and Meciel comes back to Harry, that would be the best case scenario in my opinion. I'm just wondering about its feasibility.

Besides, she says a new life awaits. I don't think that after all that time as a Denarian, a life in the mortal world would be a new life. Though it does add to the idea that maybe she returns only connected to Harry in some form, or as the Shezzaverse form of Gandalf or something, as opposed to being connected through the coin.

Also, is Amaris still trying to seduce Harry? I thought that was only because of Maeve. In their interaction after the battle in front of Mab, I got the impression that she said she meant everything she said about loving him, but in a more daughter-father way, not the lover way that Maeve pushed her to express.

Edit: Also, if Amanda was pregnant, wouldn't she know by now?

We know that a month passes between her sleeping with him and then seeing him again, and that is when he rushes off to fight in the Ministry. I'm not exactly knowledgeable about that, but wouldn't she know by now?

 

Not sure. Even if she did know, she hasn't really had a chance to tell him.
