I've been searching for Alternate Dimension HP fics, but I couldn't find any good, non-slash comlete one's. So, do any one you know of a good complete, non-slash Alternate Dimension HP fic? Thanks!

    That is now fixed.

OP, those stories certainly alternate between dimensions. At over 1,000,000 words don't start something you can't finish, however.

There's a whole section in our library for AU stories with tags telling you if they are complete or not. Try looking around the site a bit.

^ Was about to say that, but then I searched the AU library with the [complete] filter and came up with none. Heh.

OP : I suppose crossovers aren't what you're looking for ? Otherwise, I'd suggest reading Browncoat, Green Eyes by Nonjon. A good time will be had.

EDIT : Johnny Farrar speaks the truth, of course. Both are awesome, although Dimension Hopping for Beginners parodies AU more than anything else.

^ Isn't nonjon's A Black Comedy an alternate dimension story? Then there is Dimension Hoping for Beginners by the same author. I haven't read any of nonjon's work but these two stories are supposed to be set in alternate dimension.

I would also suggest nuhuh's Catharsis. The first arc of the story is complete, the second is ongoing. Its near 100k words, so its pretty long.

What is up with people writing stupid long AU stories?

I don't get the point of trying to get millions of trillions of words. It is boring, and even the plot feels like filler as there is ALWAYS MORE PLOT. Then you forget everything and the story sucks because you get tired and don't care.

I disagree with you. I really enjoy reading long stories when I find them, as long as they are not utter crap.

That said, Joe forgive me, but I never finished reading the Hero's trilogy. I lasted until halfway the second one, then got tired and decided to wait till it was complete to finish reading it. It was too confusing otherwise. :awesome

Not sure what you mean here, JWH. How did you perform the search? I just checked The Alternates section, and found at least seven complete stories on the first two pages.

Library > The Alternates > Scroll down the page > prefix set to [complete] > show threads > nothing

The OP should have checked the library the hard, old-fashioned way by opening every thread, but I guess he's lazy, and I can relate to that.

Not that many months ago, I went through Kate's list and identified all the Complete stories; they are labeled as such now. The list may not remain up to date, but it's better than clicking on every story.

Copy-pasting the list and doing a grep for the string "Alternate*Complete" yields the folliowing:

Ah, I see what you mean. You don't have to open a thread to check on its status though. Just hover the cursor over the tag icon and it shows everything.

    Nice work, Pers.
