Yeah, I believe it came out a few months ago with the deleted episodes. Which made me dance for joy.

 

Well... there goes Dollhouse. Liked it while it lasted, and it kinda endeared itself to me early on, so I watched every episode when it first came out online. Epitaph Two: The Return, was not an exception to either me watching it right away or liking it:

Kind of a happy ending, kind of. Sure, the whole rebuilding the world thing might suck, but at least my favourite couple pulled through unscathed - Victor and Sierra - and my other favourite couple got to live on somehow, what with Ballard in Echo's head for good and all that.

But since the show isn't all about couples, I will note that it sucks to see Topher off himself, but I figured he was a goner the moment I saw him go crazy in Epitaph One, helped along by Bennet's death...

Alpha was pretty cool in the end, I guess. I'm presuming he's the one who left the Ballard imprint for Echo to use, so if that's the case - good on him.

My only minor niggle: where the hell did Dominic and Whiskey end up? Fanwanking/guesswork might say that either Whiskey died back in Epitaph One thanks to the gas, or that she was around to be taken back to her original identity, and we just didn't see her due to scheduling conflicts. Dominic busted out of the Attic sometime after the apocalypse, so he either went his own way and got offed, or... nothing, really. Guy just got the fuck out of dodge.

 

Such a depressing ending. I wonder how different things would have played out if Whedon had been given the chance to make it into a proper series.

 

Whedon needs to take his brilliance to cable because this Fox business is getting out of hand. Dollhouse's ratings low ratings are perfectly within the norms on cable tv and would be called decent. My favorite thing about this show was how some of the characters grew on me. It was a surprise how great the acting could really be at times from those I wasn't expecting it from. Like Enver Gjokaj being my favorite doll hit me out of left field. He's so damn versatile that it'll be a tragedy if the actor doesn't get work after this.

He was definitely my favourite, too. I'll be looking out for him in new stuff. Whedon, though, likes to take a lot of actors/actresses from his works to new ones. I read that he was making the transition to cable, albeit Fox's cable channel, but still cable. I'm hoping that a lot of my favourites from Dollhouse, etc. are in any new project he's cooking up for that. : )

^Almost died laughing. Alpha was pretty cool, even though he wasn't channelling TDK's Joker this time around. Oh well.
