And if you are lucky enough to find a fic that isn't Wincest, you've probably stumbled upon a Dean/Castiel fic.

    Did someone say Wincest?

THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A WEDDING TO REMEMBER.

I have the theme from Deliverance playing in my head now...

Edit: Forget the crazy bitch living in the walls, that picture is the scariest thing I've seen from the show.

Dude, that is not funny. I'm serious. That is total nightmare fodder. And I don't even get the whole Wincest thing. It's not like they have that weird UST that the Petrellis from Heroes had. Honestly, sometimes I thought Claire and Peter were just going to make out in some scenes.

There are actually some gen fic sites. I'll try to find them. It's pretty hard though.

Honestly there are five main categories that Supernatural fanfics can be divided into.
    1. Wincest
    2. Dean/Castiel
    3. Mary-Sue romantically with one of the brothers
    4. Mary-Sue sister who is also a hunter
    5. Squick pairings that you need therapy to get over if you have the misfortune to glance at it.

There are fics that fall outside of these but they are incredibly rare.

All of the above is definitely true. I didn't even realize how fucked this fandom was till an epic post on another site last year. People posted pages and pages of bad manips. I was dying. What was seen cannot be unseen. These fangirls are intense to say the least.

Oddly enough, Supernatural does produce some hysterical humor!fic. Impala!preg was a whole new experience for me. There's a SN/Stephen King crossover - exorcising Christine - that is great.

    Some interesting casting news:

So apparently Adam Croasdell has been cast as Baldur, the Norse God of Light.

    This should be cool.

Next ep is Thur Mar 25?
    What?

    As always, awesome episode.

I assumed that Jimmy Novac had died when Castiel was killed at the end of S4. Dead and gone to Heaven, actually. I really don't want to believe that Jimmy was denied his Reward, or (worse) dragged out of heaven. I guess an angel can't possess a corpse?

You'd think that hell wouldn't be bothering to try to rekindle the demon blood addiction. At this point, Sam has been reserved for Lucifer himself, and I doubt anyone down there is willing to get in the way. Or was it really pure luck, and not a set up?

What actually happened to Famine? Was it incapacitated, and then Dean got with the mutilation? And what is Kripke leading up to, with this ring collection?

The only part of this entire episode I disliked was all the angsting about how Dean was dead inside. Sam's pwning of everything while Dean was moody reminded me way too much of season 4.

That was the most disgusting thing that I've seen on television in a long time. But I mean that in the best way possible. I think I gagged through the first ten minutes.

I agree, Famine is the shit!

Famine was creepy as hell. He reminded me of Kane from the Poltergeist movies.

I wish the Horsemen would stick around for more than a single episode though. Its kind of lame they get defeated so quickly.

That's a good point. I'd be the last person to denigrate the Winchesters' skill at Hunting, but for Big Bads, these guys aren't lasting very long. At all.

Yeah. At least they are actually cool though, unlike the 7 Deadly Sins.

Try eating a pizza while the lovers tear each other apart. Or, if you aren't quite up to that, the hearts are being checked out.

    It's a pleasant experience. Really.

    That said, intriguing episode.
Famine wasn't what I was expecting at all in appearance, but he sure knew how to teach a subordinate/servant not to fail.

It was good to see Sam taking some damage(Nose bleed, anyone else?) for exorcising the demons in Famines stomach. Maybe this will come back to haunt him.

I'm wondering if anyone upstairs is going to respond to Dean's plea in the nearby future, or if he's plain and simply out of luck save for Cas?

That episode was probably my favourite this season. I honestly don't know what y'all are complaining about - I think the Horsemen aren't down yet, and these episodes are just the introductions. Famine was the man - him wreaking havoc on the restaurant was disgusting and chilling... Seriously, when the cook put his hands in the deep fryer, I was a little sickened, which is oddly rare.

But it was a very awesome watch with some rather funny moments, most of them Cupid-related. Dean's angst was interesting, if only because it's relevant of where he's come from and where he's probably going to end up. I half-expected him to say the magic Y-word at the end there. Poor Sammy, detoxing again. That can't be fun.

I was kind of expecting him to say 'yes' at the end too. Also, I was actually surprised how far they pushed the gross out level in this episode, but it's not a bad thing.

But damn, another wait for the next episode?
