I couldn't read that at all. Harem-Fics just seem incredibly silly to me outside of a crackfic or smut.
Actually, it's really disturbing if you take it seriously, with all the instant love and soulmates.
Seems like mind control to me, even if it isn't done on purpose, very creepy.
That they are happier than before isn't really a good excuse, as you could say the same thing about drugs...

I've been following the Forever Mage (and indeed, HP and the Four Founders before it) since they were originally posted.

They're incredibly bland, and not much happens at all, but they pass the time.

Darth Marrs is always so frustrating. He's prolific and writes well, but so many of his plots are just... unexciting. Often due to the fact that he doesn't balance the crossovers well. With just a few minor adjustments they could be much more interesting.

That said, this looks very interesting:

    Harry Potter/Avatar crossover?

I'm glad someone else is having this problem, because everyone else seems to love him. He starts well, his dialog, characterisation and intergration of both worlds is awesome, not to mention how characters react... then he goes and does something stupid, or at least fanboyish e.g. his Ben Skywalker/Luna fic, (which was probably his worst) where Luna is a super-powerful Fallanassi who pulls Ben's spaceship out of the sky without realising it, healing deadly wounds and oh, lets not forget the obligatory soul bond.

Sometimes I'm sad that I found DLP, a few years ago I would have been able to enjoy his fics, no problem.

Holy fucking shit! Speaking as a former Avatar-hater-turned-zealot he better not mess this up, damn I wish I had thought of this first. (along with having the actual talent to write it of course,)

Forever mage remind me nonjon's brown coat green eyes for some reason thought story wasn't as good as nonjon's.

if not for harem instant bond thing it would be fairly good.

Harry has an Imperius style power over women but is also magically very weak. Author has said that Harry won't be improving either. An interesting start.

All right, I read it. I did not like it. At all. Five women who literally have no choice but to fall in love with Harry and they're all right with it! Harem, soulbond, Harry is the most powerful wizard to ever exist and is literally making people around him into witches and wizards because of his power... Good lord, NO!

It also doesn't help that it takes place so far ahead in the timeline (2392), after the events of the main timeline part of Star Trek and thus destroying the homeworld of my favorite race. It also doesn't help that the author hasn't read some of the EU of Star Trek {particularly TNG (up to and excluding Death in Winter) and DS9 (up to the end of the Worlds of DS9)}, which I found to be better than Star Wars EU in places. Thus, I am quite disappointed.

I will give it props though. The tying of elements of Star Trek, particularly World War III, into Harry Potter was well done and believable. His use of Star Trek canon is very well done, and I couldn't find any real flaws in it. I particularly enjoyed a more thorough explanation of the origins of Section 31. I also find myself agreeing with tasoli in that it reminded me more than a little of Browncoat, Green Eyes (my favorite crossover thus far), what with Harry arriving far in the future to find little to no evidence of a magical world.

So, despite my initial excitement of a long, ostensibly well-written crossover between perhaps my two favorite fictional worlds, I found the story to be cliché and lackluster, if well-written in its technical aspects. If I were rating it in the library, I'd give it a 2/5, 2.5 at most.

    tl;dr - Darth Marrs, I am disappoint.

I've just read this in the last three hours and thoroughly enjoyed. We've moved through the story at an excellent pace - not too much detail to get bogged down, but enough to not feel like I'm missing a lot. Dumbledore's character is great so far. The Pensieve viewed duel with Grindlewald was respectable. Daphne's character is decent, too. She has as good a reason for being the outsider in Slytherin as any you'll find.

The only real dislike is Harry's continued wish to be loved by the Dursley's (which was also knothead's and sirius009's complaints). I get why, but I don't like it. However, the last chapter seems to have ended that angle.

Oh, and Harry and Daphne aren't together after a maximum three chapters. I am pleased with this development.

I'd rate it 3.5-4/5 at the moment.

I actually think this story was awesomely hilarious, but I'm going to recommend it here because, well... it's not exactly a DLP sort of fic...

The Incredible and Angsty Journey of Rose Weasley, Girl Slasher!

Okay, hold on, before you look at the title and your head explodes -- you know everything you hate about HP fan fiction written by 13-year-old girls? This crackfic skewers all of it, with enough mockery and humor to ruin your keyboard if you're drinking while reading it.

    My favorite part:

Well, so do they end up making out? That's the important question here.

It's partially awesome and an original way to deal with the slash pairings and their clichés.

The Teddy pairing (second last paragraph) doesn't fit though.

I've just learned a new word!

"Cousincest is a grey area." Rose smiled reassuringly.

Wow. Every day at DLP is an enriching experience. Just like they said about my toddler's preschool...

Um. I always skipped that story because the summary sounds really like something I will not like. I now looked at the first chapters and ... well, ugh. Harry is sad because he isn't loved. Daphne hates her parents because she isn't loved. This sounds like a ridiculously cheesy set-up, where Harry and Daphne will meet, and make each other happy by falling in love and living happily ever after. After defeating Voldemort with their combined Power Of Love (TM).

Does it get better? I'm really not convinced :/

Edit2: The reasoning of the hat to place Harry into Ravenclaw doesn't make sense. It notes that Harry has "thirst for knowledge and power". That is the picturebook definition of Slytherin.

And indeed, there is no place but Slytherin that makes sense for this Harry. Ravenclaw would be the correct choice if knowledge was all he desired, from an inborn thirst of knowing stuff; however, it was clearly stated that the only reason Harry desires knowledge is to make people like him.

Seriously. I've got no problem with someone wanting to write a Ravenclaw!Harry, but I do have a problem if the premise doesn't fit it.

Knowledge --> Be liked. Means --> End. Plus thirst for power, plus ambition. That's Slytherin. Not Ravenclaw. I am not impressed.

Edit: And cousincest isn't a word, because there's no "cest" involved between cousins, Banner >_>

Depends on the jurisdiction. A lot of U.S. states still prohibit marriage between first cousins (though it's rarely enforced).

In Sweden you have to seek permision from the King before you marry your cousin. That's kinda lol.

That is kinda funny. Do you know how often the King gets petitioned to allow for cousins marrying one another?

I bet you need to bribe the King for him to let it go through.

It is not really bad per se but the thing is it is a little bit rushed. I mean they are dating in just 2 days? no if given enough work it would be very good story
