Holy cow! There's going to be a sequel to Wastelands????

That is something to look forward to. But when exactly is this sequel going to be open to the public?

Well maybe not exactly but just a guess as to when?

 

I would think that we need to wait until Wastelands is actually finished before we can start talking about the start of the sequel.

My gut feeling is that there won't be all that much of a pause between the end of Wastelands and the start of Wastelands 2, though - it seems like the sequel is really part of the same story, divided up for organizational reasons as much as anything else. If so, Joe will probably get started on part 2 relatively quickly.

Damn right there will be a sequel. And it will be awesome - more awesome than Wastelands ever was! There'll be some muthafuckin' explosions and shit.

Seriously, with what I've got planned to end Wastelands (yes, I finally know how it'll end), there will need to be a follow-up sequel fairly soon to avoid the lynch mob heading my way. Think... cliffhanger and completely unexpected revelation all rolled into a hawt scene of violently destructive sexually tension under a twilit sky. With Harry trippin' acid.

My ending isn't perfect, but it's close.

 

The Truth I'd Die For is the tentative title for Jbern's sequel to his H/F story, The Lie I've Lived.

 

Jim tends to toggle between two WiP nowadays. I suspect that a sequel to Lie won't start until he's finished with TML or Inner Eye, both of which are about equally far from completion.

Any idea when DnR 2 will begin seeing the light of day?

 

It'll be a little while yet. I've a couple original fiction projects (a novel and novella) on the front burner and have been doing a fair bit of short fiction as well. (I actually sold three stories in the last two weeks, miracle of miracles).

When I clear these off, I'll get back to work on D&R2 (which needs a better title, frankly).

 

When was the last time that Jim updated? I can't remember.

He hasn't updated that since May of 09. Well, that's unfortunate.

 

He updated The Inner Eye of Harry Potter, a week or so ago.

 

Give us a link to where we can find these stories, Pers. I'm assuming they'll be in a short-story anthology of some kind? I for one would be very interested in your original stuff.

And a hearty "Second!" from me; that story far exceeded my expectations, which admittedly consisted of "crackfic ahoy."

 

Will do. Two of mine will appear in the Micro Fiction Magazine being put out by http://www.storyhack.com/. For what it's worth, jbern and BajaB also have two "stories" each in that mag. (One of mine is "Tweet fiction" - tell a story in 140 characters; I made a buck off it). I don't have a link for the third story yet, but if you shoot me an email via PM and promise not to post it anywhere, I could forward you a private copy.

I'm a little surprised anyone's even reading Mother In Law's Love. It's pretty much finished (the ending is somewhere between Shezza and Joe6991 levels of epic), but I was planning to time the releases of the last two chapters + epilogue to coincide with the publication of an anthology project that several on here are working on. Depending on the wait, I could be convinced to ship them off earlier.

Uh, bit of a bump, but I'm also a fan of Harry/Fleur (as well as Harry/Tonks). There's a new Fleur/Harry story up on ff.net.

There's quite a few cliches, but there's an interesting spin or two within it, e.g.,

Fleur feeling inadequate for Harry instead of vice versa.

It's also updated pretty regularly, like once every two/three days. The author seems competent as apparently he has the full outline planned out, and isn't just writing the story out blindly.
