True, but at the same time it is also overly optimistic to think that Kubo won't make Yama a one trick pony that gets pwned if he can't use his zanpakuto.

 

It was nice seeing some emotion on Yama's face for once.

Also, Aizen's stats are right there too, equal with Yamamoto's. And he has shikai and bankai left. Assuming that his 'modded arrancar' can, in fact, completely extinguish Ryuujin Jakka, which I doubt.

 

Lets hope not. It would be so lame if we never get to see Yama's bankai.

 

Aizen himself says that in a straight fight Yama's power is far greater than his own. Hence why, I think, the special arrancar. He knew he'd be toast if he fought straight up with the old man. Still, this is becoming a real hax-o-mania. I suppose that in the end it'll be Ichigo through yet another hax, who'll cut Aizen down to size, inspite of the fact that he has no special abilities bar his mask (and Aizen surely has something against that).

Anywho, I seriously doubt that Aizen could have predicted VastoLorde!Ichigo, so there's a pretty good chance that's gonna throw a big wrench in his plans. Still, I was really hoping to see Yama-jii do work in the next chapter, but it's shaping into a senior citizens smackdown with Wonder coming.

Out of everything Aizen's done this is one of the few things I can stomach.

As Aizen himself said Yama is possibly the only person capable of facing him in combat and having a good chance at winning. So obviously he's going to do something to negate that.

 

I have to agree with this to some extent; unlike a lot of the ass-pulls Aizen has done which can stretch the bounds of credulity, having some sort of plan to counteract the power of the single most dangerous enemy he has makes a lot of sense.

 

Agreed, preparing a defence against a powerful enemy is not an asspull, it's common sense. It's just that we've become so used to random upgrades being the set standard that when anyone with an ounce of logic comes forward, we're stumped.

Face it, Aizen is doing everything a real person would do with that much power and ambition, and it just makes him seem god-like compared to the idiots who make up the main cast.

Yamamoto continues to be awesome, and it looks like Ichigo is finally going to get into the fight.

 

Yamamoto is a fucking pimp, that was just epic. Also very happy Ichigo is getting in on this, anyone else hoping to see his super Hollow form make a come back? Give that bastard and his hax something to really choke on.

 

Yamamoto is great and all, but am I only one who just want this fight to end and move on? From the begininng we all know that it is just matter of time before Aizen will get what he want and action probably change place to realm of king or something. The only thing that surprised me was body count on Aizen side but I'm sure it's part of his plan. So for more than year we're waiting for next stage to happens - appearance of Royal Guard and Aizen's Vasto Lords that I pretty sure he has hidden to fight them.

Or maybe Kubo will surprise us - Ichigo will defeat Aizen and we'll get new enemy. Or he will end manga. I doubt that will happen.

Yeah, new chapter up. And the shit is finally getting ready to hit the fan hard.

This. This is about the most accurate thing ever said about Bleach. I guess for the common reader, it's a little shocking to see someone so powerful and sneaky, when in actuality, this is exactly where all manga villains should be at. Aizen is up there with Sephiroth and Maleficent for all time favorite baddies.

He's actually doing work and he's not dicking around. He's covering all his bases and making sure that nothing comes back to bite him afterwards.

When did villains become so mediocre that this is considered godly?

 

Planning ahead and making sure there are no nasty surprises does make a lot of sense, and most of the time he's not stretching the bounds of credulity with his ability to plan ahead. The only real problem with Aizen's planning skills is that he seems to be the only person remotely capable of actually thinking ahead rather than just charging in screaming.

I think most of the complaints about his god-like power level stem from the fact that his shikai lets him mind control everyone who's not Ichigo.

 

Indeed, it's amazing what a bit of common sense and forward planning can do for the prospective manga villain.
