It is not as bad and it redeems Naruto as a character for me. But Kishi is fast running out of idea's this arc just proves it further and imho he should end it it as soon as he can. In the next arc or 2 would be awesome. >_>

Well, I got to 'the page' and...well...my head hurts and my desk is dented. I'm of the opinion that this has dragged on far longer than it should have, and I've honestly gotten lost in all the varying plot points.

TLDR: What the fuck is going on here?

My question is. Where the hell is he going to get an Rinnegan?

 

Alright, as much as a I hate Sasuke and think he has gone beyond redemption over the course of the manga, I have to admit that his reaction to Naruto's rather odd decision that they should both die was one of his better moments. I second Cheddar's hope that next chapter will involve somebody pointing out how incredibly stupid Naruto is being.

That matter aside, the rest of the chapter was actually pretty good; Zetsu showing up again was interesting, and it looks like he's going to end up fighting someone other Naruto since Madara outright said Zetsu's no match for Naruto, and confirmed that Zetsu is more of a scout/spy than a head-to-head warrior. Since Kishimoto has said that he was planning to make Sakura a bit more heroic, I'm going to guess she might get the kill; Zetsu might be within a power level that's plausible for her to beat. Having her actually be useful for the first time since the Gaara Arc would make for a nice change.

We also get a hint about Madara's plans that's just vague enough to be intriguing; what is up to with the Rinnegan? Maybe the reason we never see Madara's other eye is because he's trying to/has replaced it with a Rinnegan? I just hope it is anything other than Sasuke getting a Rinnegan, because that would be terrible and unnecessary.

 

All I really want is for Naruto to die by that poison somehow because even though Sasuke is batshit crazy, even he thinks Naruto is retarded.

 

Personally I think Madara/Zetsu ambushed Konan and stole Nagato's body.

 

That would actually make a lot of sense.

In other news, it occurs to me that it is probably a commentary on the recent issues of the Naruto manga that I've been looking forward to new episode's of the Anime's current filler arc more than new issues of the manga.

 

I agree. Seriously, when the insane guy who uses a very twisted form of logic to justify his actions (which are usually dumb) thinks your an idiot perhaps it's time to take stock of yourself, and do the only honorable thing and commit seppuku.

 

I tend to think of Naruto actions as a bit over the top, but not retarded or stupid.

Sasuke reminds of himself so much or at least the hate part, Sasuke was one of the few people who was friendly at a younger age, and he thinks Sasuke has just gone insane.

 

Not a bad chapter, though it's a shame we don't get to see Naruto/Sasuke fight yet...

The interesting thing was that Madara seems to be under an impression that Naruto's fighting style relies heavily on Kyubi's power. Maybe I'm assuming too much from the chapter but it seems that he is unaware of Naruto's sage abilities and thus is likely to underestimate Naruto in a fight...

^^ No, that sounds about right. Only things that stupid could possibly happen in canon. I'm beginning to think Kishi doesn't want Naruto to ever end, simply so he can make more money. If this kind of stuff keeps up, we'll be looking at another 3 years of this manga, at least.

 

If anything, it's more like his editors don't want the manga to ever end, so that THEY can make more money.

Actually, knowing how the manga business works in Japan, I don't think Kishimoto and his team actually see that much of the overall profits the brand "Naruto" makes. Not even a 1%.
