I keep getting asked about a few things, so use this thread to discuss slang we use here. Useful for newbies to figure out what some of our injokes are.

Stained-future: To stained-future something is to make it so outlandish that it broaches retarded.

Lightsabers being made from LED pointer keychains, Harry being a uber assasin at the age of 10 with a million different arts and wolverine claws, etc. Examples include "my future is stained by reading this fic" or "That story was stained-futured so bad it dropped my I.Q. by half"

Additional by Gio:" Blatant plaigarism from other fanfics and Horrible Crossover ideas fall into this category.In other words turning what was once good writing into something so horrible that any person with one shred of intelligence realizes that the author is borderline retarded "

Feartheturtle: To make threads flaming others or to throw an excessive temper tantrum.

Often followed by a smack from myself or Raven. Examples include the "Guest flaming me, Vorlon, any author that comes here and throws a fit because someone didn't like their work" It may also be used to describe someone who spells with the keyboard like a blind retarded monkey who has had it's arms and legs sliced off. "You really feartheturtle'd with that post didn't you?" May also be called Vorlon'ed if the post contains massive negativity towards a whole group when only 10% or less loathed the thing in question.

Kitchenware stuff: To be so hardcore you can murder someone with a common kitchen item. Some have guns, some have knives, and though you may walk through the shadow of the valley of death, you have your wok/pan/peeler and fear not, because you are the baddest mofo in the valley.

Whore: Generally used in reference to Ginny, as per her role as a stalker/whore in fanon. Example: "The whore is paired with him in this fic"

Herman: Used in reference to a shemale Hermione. The women is so anal and annoying it's an easy way to lash out at her poorly written character. Example: "it's slash, the pairing is Harry and Herman"

The Office: A fic that started as a sick joke, quickly spiraled out of control at the helm of two disgusting individuals. Now used to refer to anything that disgusts you to the point you wash your keyboard with disinfectant after reading it for even a second. Examples include anything older then a month in the Mature section, most of Adultfanfiction.net's material.

Half Baked Plot: Our name for the pathetic excuse that was book 6. Very few of us here who have read it, have been able to tolerate it, to the point where it's foul being has ruined fanon for many of us. Examples include: "JKR ripped off so much of Half baked Plot from fanon it's scary" or "Teflon only got depussified due to fangirls loving him"

Nazi Admins: Me... er n/m.. This term is used for the fine folks at FF.net who kindly feel it is their right to allow slash, pedophilia, rape, torture, and all other fun stuff, yet rip down good dark Harry stories if the pairing isn't H/Whore. Examples are numerous, including a large number of stories listed on this very site.

Bobmin Syndrome: A fiction of all Genre's.

 

Cupped - to create another account and continue posting when one has been banned.

Verb - Did you hear about SlytherinDamian? He cupped his way back in.

Noun - He's a cupspeaker if I ever saw one.

Story behind it is a guy (see above) named Tridentwatch (who was banned) who created another account and named himself Cupspeaker. He wandered into the irc and didn't realise that Raven could see his real details there and was banned again.

Entomology: XXXbloodywrists666XXX, who insists her story is 'totily goffik', and anyone with incompatible tastes is a 'stufid prep'.

The story in question, My Immortal, is generally thought to add another category to the classic 'Kinsfire, Poor, Acceptable, Myth' scale.

Being kind souls, DLP agreed to change the meaning of goffik to suit her needs.
