I agree the series needs a reboot mainly because of the whole avenger movie so that marvel can keep things consistent. that and because I always thought they could have taken the script, dialogue, actors and roles a little more seriously. 1 and 2 were okay, but 3 was utter shit.

I still cringe to this day at the hospital, Mary Jane, Peter Parker scene where he's describing how wonderful she is.

They need to start with Gwen, kill her off, and go from there.

 

I hate Nicholas Cage, he can't act for shit. Ugh.

 

I have to say the minute Silens mentioned Cages more psychotic roles I realized he was right, I just saw a snippet of him as a washed out dead beat cop (so original, btw) blackmailing this athlete caught with drugs and god, do I wish I could have watched the whole movie.

He was also good in Kick-Ass, hell he even managed to do a -barely- tolerable voice over without his stupid nasally, monotone voice making me want to stuff his face up his ass Hancock-style.

 

This is a fan campaign for one particular actor (Donald Glover) who is black based off an article from one dude, so it's likely just hot air. Glover's been granted an audition, but I think that's just to humor his fans a bit. The 5 guys under consideration for the spot according to the director himself are these dudes.

 

If they use a similar story as in the Spectacular Spider-Man, you know the newest cartoon which was fucking awesome, the reboot might not be so bad after all. I didn't read the comics but I loved the new spin they gave to the characters. Maybe something like that would do wonders to the reboot?

When he stops trying to be a heart throb, with action hero potential, and plays the semi deranged, most likely a pedofile in appearance, rocking the 80's mustach character that he looks like then he's total win.

 

Just one of those things that make you want to throat punch somebody. Isn't Stan Lee involved in the film ? I doubt he would like them butchering Spider Man.
