Hello everyone,

For a while now I've been looking for a certain type of Harry Potter fan fiction. One where during the third task or more specifically the graveyard incident there would be witnesses. An example would be the entire crowd watching what goes on inside the maze during the third task through some type of monitoring or viewing charm, a side effect of it would be the crowd witnessing the entire graveyard incident from Harry's perspective. Another option would be showing Hogwarts the events through a charm or Pensieve.

This would in turn have major repercussions through the Wizarding World, or at the very least have a bigger effect on Harry's life then it did in canon. I figured this idea would be a major cliché with the thousands of fan fictions out there but I've only found one through weeks of searching and that was Visions of Topaz about the crowd’s reaction as it happened, not even 1500 words long.

I found other stories that have the whole Pensieve idea going for it, but many of them don’t give that significant moment the attention it deserves; most of them just revolve around how Cedric died. Voldemort's Return, Wormtail's presence, Inner Circle Death Eater's Unmasking, Harry's inability to properly defend himself even though Dumbledore knew of the prophecy, all of them ignored. So many enormous story changing revelations, I'm just surprised there aren't more stories like this.

Any help in finding stories like this is appreciated.

 

Come What May does this to a degree in one of the earlier chapters, thought it's really just Harry getting all of his memories shown to his Potions class because of Snape. Still, I like this fic on its own, so I'd rec it.

There is this abandoned story Secrets of the Male Veela by Mrriddler, where Harry reveals the Third Task to everybody during dinner in the Great Hall in a pensieve.

 

Nope, more like "Harry and Draco are forced together by Dumbledore and so they have to find a way to not kill each other." Hilarity ensues.

 

Yeah, Secrets of the Male Veela is probably one of my favorite stories, but again its another of those stories that doesn't give the events of the Graveyard Incident the attention it deserves. It takes a back seat to all the sex and even if he was going to do something with it, well he abandoned the story so we'll never know.

Maybe someone should make this a challenge...

 

Story wasn't really all that great to begin with, in my honest opinion. I tried reading it again and I just couldn't get back into it.

But I do like the idea the OP has mentioned. I'm interested, too.

 

I remember one fic that had Hogwarts house elfs wandering the maze invisible while whatever they saw was showed on a high-tech pensieve-like screen above the maze, with live feed from all of them...

I don't remember anything else from that one though.

I think it is Knowledge is Power that you are referring to. There were these pensieves in that story that worked like large feed television and were used during Quiddtich matches. Even though I've read the story, its been a long time and I don't remember if he ever wrote the Final task.

 

KIP stopped before the second task, just after Harry and Dumbledore found out that something was up with Moody, IIRC.

I read somewhere that RuneMaster contains something similar to the OP's search, but the story lost me long before that point so I don't know for sure.
