I'm still a Misty fan, but I can see where Oak would be coming from with Ash/Dawn.

Filler was pretty filling and it gave a nice preview of how things are setup one year down the road.

 

Yeah, I enjoyed the filler.

And, I was a Ash/Misty fan initially, but I can see how she got kinda boring. I kinda want Ash/Dawn, but then i'd feel sorry for Misty, ya know how it goes.

Will be interesting to see what happens, at least.

 

I want some Ash/Dawn. Its about time for Ash to drop Misty fast.

 

I agree that if Misty is to remain a primary character, she needs a new character development to stop her constant naggy angsting. She came off as really bad in this chapter specifically, maybe she'll be enjoyable again when they're back on the road.

 

That's the feeling I got from this chapter. It was a little dry and dull in a sense. The main part that I felt was done well was the emphasis on the character growth in this section. Ash's Pidgeot, and his Charizard among the key point. It is interesting to point out however that Ash's Charizard seemed much "tamer" than it originally was in the anime, and less violent in a sense than it was in the previous chapters.

The thermal imaging stuff seemed a bit strange though. The explanation for it seems kind of BS-ish.

 

Where the fuck did Misty get a vaporeon? Umbreon would have pwned Sabrina. There isn't even the excuse that it is new generation, because Dawn is also.

Also, hurray for Pidgeot and Charizard. I hope Ash got more new pokemons than them, though.

 

I just read all fifteen chapters in one sitting. Yeah totally the most beast Pokemon fic I have ever read. I was bit apprehensive of Dawn at first, but I think it's time for something to happen because ash and misty's "love" surviving all of the adventures together and being a happy ending just screams shit to me. So heres hoping Ash drops misty and bangs dawn and has totally awesome savant kids

 

I don't particularly like any of the love interests for Ash in the fic. Dawn came off as a cocky bitch and Misty is just getting boring. Not to mention she was a pretty hardcore criminal. But hey, to each his own.

 

Prison bitches be kinky. And Dawn's just an ice queen who needs to be warmed up... :awesome

 

The new chapter was pretty sweet-o all around. This story really does keep getting better and better, and it's nice to see the plot moving once again.

I still prefer MataHari!Misty over IceBitch!Dawn, but haters gonna hate.

 

Yea, Misty got some much better screen time in this chapter. I still a little ticked off about how Jessie and James keep giving it to them. But yea, Ash needs to hit them hard in the next chapter. So what gym is next. It's the 4th one right?

I'm going to guess that there's either a server problem, or that a massive solar flare dented the earth's magnetosphere so catastrophically that the resultant pole-shift crippled the internet.

Not gonna lie, I was about ready to punt a baby over a goal line if I didn't get to read the newest chapter.

Then it came out and I was like :awesome.

I really like the portrayal of Team Rocket in this fic; finally, Jesse and James are given some screentime that shows them to be more than petty failures. But if these two grunts are this bad, I can't wait to see what Giovanni's like.

Also, I'm looking forward to future interactions with Mewtwo. With him running interference in Lavender Town, he seems to be more interested in global protection than the global destruction he wanted when first introduced in the show/movie.

Of course, I could just be reading too much into his motives...

 

Mewtwo wanted to help pokemon IIRC, perhaps helping Ash fight TR is the most direct way he can do that from within the Malebolge...

Or I could just be firing off conjecture...

 

Could be more self-protection than any plan for global salvation/annihilation. Team Rocket are trying to capture him in the Malebolge and Mewtwo doesn't want that, so he acts in any way he can to prevent them doing so. In this case it's helping Ash out, but I'm sure that if it became expedient to sacrifice Ash for the greater good (read: Mewtwo's own wellbeing) he'd do so in an instant.

That said, I wonder if 50calibrechaos has read the Pokemon Special manga, which seems pretty similar in style, if not nearly as dark and gritty. Even if he hasn't this reminds me very much of the first segment (which covers gen 1), in a good way. All in all, I like it. Update more!

Don't the poison Pokemon seem a bit overpowered? Just about every time a Pokemon gets poisoned it's completely out of the fight or dead.

Do you remember your pokemon getting poisoned in the first game? If you didn't have an antidote you were fucked.

 

Yeah, but you usually had an antidote, or you could go to a Pokemon center relatively quickly. It just seems that Arbok is basically unbeatable. It bites you and you're dead or close to dead.
Also, I'm kinda curious if Ash is ever going to capture a legendary pokemon, because the anime portrays them as basically minor gods compared to other pokemon.
I'm rooting for Ash capturing Mewtwo.
