Probably just a guy in a similar ponytail. Iruka was a kid when the 9-tails attacked, no idea if his parents were shinobi though.

 

Both of his parents were Shinobi so it could have been Iruka's father.

 

It is probably Irukas father.

 

He's probably gonna die then. Perhaps all the fanon theories about Iruka being ANBU are plausible, too.

I also liked that Minato acknowledged the fact that ANBU are not supposed to be cannon-fodder.

 

Well, it looks like there's more to the Hiraishin than I thought at first. Barriers, teleporting things other than yourself, multiple levels...can't wait for more (for once)!

 

Okay, Minato is offically one badass mother fucker.

 

Damn that was epic - we finally get to see Minato in a high level fight and it doesn't disappoint. And I really enjoyed how he kept his kage robe on all the while unlike all the other Kages we've seen in a full fight (though it might have been because he didn't have time...).

 

Anyone else think hope that this arc is building to Naruto learning Hiraishin?

 

Well I'm certainly hoping for that. Naruto's pretty damn quick by himself, but I don't think his speed is a match for the sharingan. And his genjutsu's about as pathetic as it can get in a ninja his level (casting and dispelling). What better way to avoid both traps by moving so fast that even the sharingan can't follow him? Even otherwise, there's still the 'that jutsu' Jiraiya mentioned. That should make and appearance sometime and I'm hoping its the Hiraishin.

 

The fact that Minato beats Madara and then goes on to defeat the nine tailed fox makes him the best character in the series.

 

Fixed. Since clearly that's what's gonna happen with Naruto.

 

I'd just like to reinforce the point I made earlier when someone compared Itachi to Nagato, Jiraiya and Minato: they're nowhere near the same level and this chapter showed it pretty clearly. I'm not sure where Nagato fits into the power scaling of the series, but Jiraiya > Itachi, and Minato > All.

 

Kyuubi >= Minato. It's canon.

I mean, Kyuubi definitely lost, but at least he took Minato with him.

 

Let it go the record Minato was a fucking beast. Madara is a boss for summoning the Kyuubi in the fucking middle of Konoha.

 

I'm pretty sure it was stated outright in the first issue that both of Iruka's parents were killed while defending against the Fox's attack on Konoha.

 

The 4th reminds me of a smarter Goku, and Naruto reminds me of Gohan (if he had kept training).

So as far as human power levels go: Minato > All, Naruto > Minato (not yet, but soon), Bubbles > Sasuke. lol

 

Well, I think this chapter showed us why Minato's death was necessary. If he were still alive Akatsuki would have been gone before Naruto was out of diapers.

Is it jsut me, or are the latest two chapters really small compared to the others? They feel as if they were one single chapter which was split up.

 

They are more interesting, so they seem shorter.
