The Yondaime was hella powerful and more than did himself justice against the Kyuubi and Madara but the sage defeated and sealed the (Juubi which was all the bijuu combined) and allegedly created the moon (Pein admitted his Chibaku Tensei was paltry in comparison)... That would be a hell of a fight. With the sage weilding all of the powers of the Rin'negan at greater potency and his vast seal knowledge as well there's no telling what would happen. Also we have no idea how the sage's powers affect or react to space-time techniques or the depth of his knowledge in such things.

Its interesting to note that Minato did not appear to have the capability of effectively sealing the kyuubi in himself whilst the Sage of the Six Paths managed to seal the Juubi within himself and later even break its power up into 9 so it could not reform.

Then again, we have no idea how long it took the Sage to realize the full extent of his powers (Minato was in his twenties, I assume?), how long he prepared to take this fight (Minato had mere minutes to react with his world falling apart around him--the birth, the ambush, the Kyuubi ripped out of his wife, summoned to the middle of the village, attacked by someone who mastered Space/Time jutsu, etc), and how much it actually took from him.

All in all, it's really unknown. What we know of the Sage comes in bits and pieces of history with really no real-world references to draw upon, and of Minato we've only seen the briefest flash of his brilliance in the face of a completely unexpected ambush/surprise blitz attack.

Meh. We really have no idea how he did that. And whether it really was just a one man thing. We don't know anything except that perhaps the Sage did. Nothing else.

Unless the author states otherwise, it's all just theory.

After all, didn't we all think that the Kyuubi was on a rampage to Konoha for several days before the Fourth sealed him up--just like a month ago? Then we learned that it was actually a bigger deal with the Fourth able to react practically on the spot to stop the nine tailed demon.

At this point, making the fucking moon even seems in the realm of possibility for relatively "normal nin" like the Fourth, who to our knowledge has no bloodline ability and seems to have been able to take a chakra shot from the Kyuubi head-on easily.

And more of which, what the hell is up with your fucking tone? That's just pissing me off. Leave the attitude out of this. Did that outburst make you feel any bettter? Bah.

Iirc the history of the Sage was written on the Uchiha's stone tablet, so its safe to assume the story was fairly accurate history Kisji gave too us (keeping in mind Kishi may choose to throw another curveball soon). So we can assume it to be true until he says otherwise.

Personally I found the former version more impressive, the Kyuubi raging towards the Hidden Leaf and Minato making the ultimate seal at the lost possible second. The we found at it was less of a deal, The Kyuubi had a previous jinchuriki and it might break out during her pregnancy. So Minato came up with some 'worst-case scenario' jutsu to deal with Kyuubi's chakra attacks, or more likely modified techniques he already possessed seeing as Shikaku and Choza recognized it on sight.

So we have Minato (almost out of chakra at this point) tag team the Kyuubi with his wife, then use a seal that was probably invented by the seal master Namikaze clan. Impressive yes, but not on the same level as the very first ninja coming up with the very first seal to make him the very first jinchuriki. Of the Juubi. By himself. Then on his deathbed split its spirit into nine parts and send the body into space.

They both had time to prepare for their respective fights, Minato with the support of his wife and the Third, the Sage by himself and I just find the Sage the more impressive of the two. Sorry you took that the wrong way liath.

I have my doubts on that, I don't really believe the whole jyuubi stuff. I mean, maybe it is me hoping because it is awful but there are a bit too many holes in that story.

That stone tablet can be read by only with Sharingan and Rinnegan but not Byakugan? Why? Well, maybe because it is a big fat lie solely told to fuck with the Kages (and readers) and it is not like anyone can check it since a) the tablet is most likely destroyed and b) even if not, Konoha lacks Rinnegans and Sharingans to read that damn thing.

Kakashi could but then again maybe they could easily say he is not a true Uchiha and can't read it or some shit like that.

Point is, nobody checked that tablet for one reason or another and since we got no single proof I will go with my version of Madara lying his ass off about the stupid Jyuubi and the even more stupid notion of the moon been created by the Sage.

Hated the whole "Minata is a retard" thing but I expressed that in earlier post. It did ruin the "he was the only one who sealed the kyuubi thing and he had to make a deal with teh devuhl thing to do it.

    meh, pity.

On p. 13, was Naruto using Hiraishin or was he just being ridiculously fast because he was using Kyuubi chakra?

Either way, I completely approve of this chapter.

He did a shunshin + attack combo, much like Minato did to Madara after he hit him with Rasengan.

Question: If Naruto tapped into the Kyuubi, why does it affect nature positively? Isn't the kyuubi chakra made out of malice, evil and the like? shouldn't that happened with senjutsu?

Also Naruto's Kyuubi mode or whatever this glowing thing is looks stupid :/

Gai, as always, steals the show and continues being awesome by bringing both humor, honest to god humor and good action in it.

Naruto-Central is a decent alternative to mangastream.

I love how Naruto proclaims to be more badass than his dad and actually pulls it off in the same chapter.

If Naruto now is still only on par with Sasuke I'm going to rage so hard.

Naruto tore the "good" chakra from Kyuubi to use as his own - hence the nature-aspect chakra. Also, I don't think it's ever definitively stated that the bijuu or the Kyuubi specifically are pure evil. Obviously Hachibi is not, and while Kyuubi has plenty of bad feelings for the people who trapped/weakened him, he seems to be far more than a dumb animal.

    You're stupid.

Naruto says his goal is to become stronger than all the other Hokages, more badass than his dad, and a better shinobi than is mother.

    He hasn't proclaimed anything.

As far as Sasuke goes, I think that Naruto still refuses to acknowledge Itachi's insinuation that he might be forced to kill Sasuke for the good of Konoha. Naruto seems to be on a quest for more and more power at the moment, and I'm thinking that his goal is to become so strong that he can subdue Sasuke without killing him.

This is hopefully the origin of the "we'll both die" statement, since Naruto would always be fighting to win while keeping Sasuke alive. If Naruto were going for killing blows I don't see how Sasuke would have been able to beat SM Naruto with only his weakening MS.

Ugh, I swear that Kishimoto pulled off this new 'Kyuubi mode' only so that he could spend less time on drawing Naruto. I'm with Nemrut, it looks pretty bad.

I liked Killer Bee surprisingly much in this.

Hell yeah! Hiraishin!Naruto without the funny kunai - I loved this!
And Gai's 'Leaf Boulder Basher' sounds so much better than the Raikage's 'Elbow'. :awesome

That it's not Hiraishin? Well, the lack of the kunai might be a big factor...

Well I don't have the raw in front of me but shunshin = teleportation generally. Bee recognized the jutsu right away.

Also, inexplicably learning a space/time teleportation on the level of Minato or Madara would be rather silly.

So as always Naturo become more powerful by overcoming various obstacles when Sasuke will probably have as much upgrade by Madara giving him his brother's eyes? Cheater ;) .

Shame we didn't see what dark!Gai would look like, but it was interesting to read what he had to tell to Gai.
