Yeah, right. He hasn't even caught Haunter, yet. No way is Mewtwo going to let Ash drive TR out of the cave just to catch him.

 

I'm kinda curious. Are legendary Pokemon ever really caught(permanently) in the anime?
I haven't watched it in at least 3 years so I don't remember.

 

Yes. Articuno was used by someone in the frontier several times. Also, Mewtwo was caught by Giovanni, albeit not in the usual manner, until Mewtwo escaped (in the anime, not the movie).

In the Pokemon Special manga, which is, as mentioned, quite similar to this story, most legenderies are caught.

 

I fell out of the anime and never read the manga so I don't actually know how powerful they are canonically, but I like how this story props them up to the level of deities.

That said, I really doubt Ash will or even could catch Mewtwo. But I am looking forward to Ash's encounters with other legendaries, like Mew, the birds, or Lugia (if the story even progresses that far).

 

In the beginning of the anime, legenderies were indeed head and shoulders above all other Pokemon. But as Ash managed to beat Articuno using his Charizard, they are obviously not unbeatable (Charizard was Ash's best Pokemon, though, when Ash was very highly regarded.)

Other legenderies however, do seem to be unstoppable. Mewtwo managed to beat two of Gary's best Pokemon simultaneously with ease, and controlled dozens in the movie.

Also, Arceus is god.

I feel so nerdy right now...

 

The first movie was BOSS. Mewtwo was just pure awesome.
On a more related note:
In this fic he seems more motivated than in canon, and quicker to gain skills, so I'd expect that he'd eventually be able to capture(or battle to a standstill) a "minor" legendary like one of the birds or legendary beasts(Entei...).
Is that plausible Grub?(in your more knowledgeable opinion)

 

I see no reason why not. Charizard seems to be at the same level as he was in canon when Ash sent him to the reserve, so in a couple of years he should be able to defeat Articuno, who he has a type advantage against. Same goes for Arcanine.

Haunter is a wild card. While he seems to be almost unstoppable (barring psychic/ghost pokemon), I predict the legenderies will be able to sense him. There is no instance that I can recall where a ghost fights a legendary in the anime, but that in itself is proof that ghosts aren't a magical solution to everything. Even if Ash will catch Haunter (which I doubt) and evolve it into a gengar, I doubt it will be able to defeat a legendery without help, as he has a type advantage only against Celebi...

Pikachu... yeah, he's the icon, but it's not gonna happen. Or at least it shouldn't.

That said, there is no reason Ash won't use several pokemon against a legendary, meaning he might be able to scrape a tie even now.

The real question is, should it happen, storywise? Probably not. Even though it's cool, it can be a too big of a power boost. It will be cool if he caught something like the Crystal onix, though (it's probably an Ice-type).

 

Is the anime interesting?I haven't seen it in a while, might start watching again.

 

I stopped watching the anime after the Orange Islands saga, but a couple months ago I watched an episode in which a character (I think it was Brandon, like in the games) had captured all three Regis. Pikachu managed to defeat Regice.

I wouldn't mind one of the minor Legendaries (going by the games' standards, which would be The Birds, The Gerbils, The Regis or the Lake Trio) being caught, it seems plausible.

 

When I got the update, there were three emails saying chapter 16 and one saying 17. That was pretty annoying.

Anyway, story rocks. I'd like to see that fucking Arbok killed, since it seems to be king-shit. If you make Jesse and James any stronger, they might as well be leading Team Rocket.

So far the story has been realistic, but I'd like more explanation on the Elite 4. Why they need four people, for example.

 

I could understand watching and enjoying pokemon when I was like 13, but I think i'd rather cut off Zennith's dick than watch the pokemon Anime these days.

I didn't even mind what Ash did at the end either. I can see how it'd of been a difficult decision.

 

It was a tough decision for sure, but it's gonna come back to bite him hard.

 

God damn morality, always getting in the way. Still, it was an awesome chapter and we've got a new mystery on our hands with ninja Koga and his gym. Also, who's the girl in the purple hoodie?

 

My guess would be Janine.

My first thought was Sabrina, but why the hell would she be following Ash? Janine makes a bit more sense, but I'm gonna keep coming up with more and more ridiculous ideas until the new chapter comes out.
