You know what would be awesome? If both Silens and Peacmeaker would battle, thus allowing the tournament to progress. kthnxguise.

I sent Silens a PM early last week, he still hasn't responded. Since my time was kind of sparse I couldn't visit IRC at all; this changes now, however, so that I am confident that we will be able to have that battle soon.

And it's over. After a hard-won victory over Peacemaker, Derulo proved victorious over me, winning 2-1 in the best of three.

Congrats Derulo for an epic win!

For the record, the fight between Silens and Peacemaker was 2-1-1 in Silen's favor. The tie was quite unexpected, and nearly saw Peacemaker as the champ. Great games all around, people, and congratulations to Derulo for being the reigning champion of DLP Pokemon.

Congrats to both Silens and Derulo! The tournament was awesome and I am definitely looking forward to the next one. Maybe then I can improve on the 3rd-place finish. ;)

Silens and I faced off in an epic match in which I had much difficulty outmaneuvering him. Congratulations to him for winning Tournament B. For anyone interested, here's the winning team:

    Aerodactyl @ Focus Sash
    Jolly(4 HP/252 Att/252 Spe)
    Stealth Rock
    Ice Fang
    Rock Slide
    Fire Blast
The lead. I like Aerodactyl because he outspeeds every other lead and I can use him depending on how I feel. He can either be the Stealth Rock suicide type or take out the opponent's lead with his diverse movepool. Focus Sash guarantees he is never OHKOd or taken down by priority moves like Bullet Punch.
    Gengar @ Life Orb
    Timid(4 Hp/252 Spe/252 SpA)
    Shadow Ball
    Energy Ball
    Focus Blast
    Hidden Power Ice
Gengar, with life orb and full speed EVs, is usually a potential sweeper or can serve as a check for troublesome pokes. Shadow Ball is psychics and ghosts, Energy Ball is specifically for Swampert, Focus Blast is for the Ttar that may switch in hoping to take out Gar(although accuracy is abmysal) and HP ice will fell any dragons and Gliscors.
    Lanturn @ Leftovers
    Calm(252 Hp/252 SpD)
    Thunder Wave
    Thunderbolt
    Ice Beam
    Surf
Lanturn is surprising good pokemon serving as a check for most OU water types and as a semi-wall taking several grass attacks and standing up to Scizor's bullet punches. Its ability Volt Absorb also allows for easy switching on Twaves and all manner of electric attacks, and it's even better when the opponent doesn't know about this and will continually heal Lanturn(looking at you, Vlad).
    Metagross @ Choice Scarf
    Jolly(28 Hp/252 Attack/228 Spe)
    Zen Headbutt
    Thunder Punch
    Ice Punch
    Earthquake
Usually the revenge killer and partial wall. No one expects a fast Metagross and this allows me to get the quick revenge kill, switch out, kill again. Zen Headbutt takes out fighting types who will think they will have an easy kill in Metagross while the other moves are for water, dragon and fire types respectively.
    Breloom @ Toxic Orb
    Impish(236 Hp/248 Def/24 Spe)
    Substitute
    Leech Seed
    Focus Punch
    Spore
Breloom has been called a cunt, a faggot and a whore by it's opponents. This is all true. You will find that the Breloom that has spored the opposing pokemon and set up a sub can wreck massive havoc on a team. If Focus Punch doesn't do the job then Breloom will stall with a Leech Seed/Sud combo(assuming it outspeeds the other poke). The EV spread allows Breloom to survive priority moves and some others that may try to stop it from setting up.
    Tyranitar @ Lum Berry
    Jolly(4 Hp/252 Att/252 Spe)
    Dragon Dance
    Crunch
    Fire Punch
    Stone Edge
The designated sweeper. After one DD Ttar can do some significant damage, after two/three good luck winning the match. The lum berry was only placed there once Seratin announced Item Clause, but I have found that a surprising number of people will try to status TTar so this usually allows me a free DD, after which it's sweeping time.

So there it is. Typing this out I've realized that I like my pokemon fast(3 Jolly natures and full speed EVs) and with a diverse movepool. With the exception of Breloom no one overspecializes or has a really "fixed role" despite my comments. Surprisingly enough the counter/threats to my team are some of the most common OU pokemon like Scizor, Swampert, Rotom, Celebi, Jirachi, Salamence and Suicune. I have different ways to take out these teams/pokes but they can cause me trouble(Lutris's team for example, our record is 5-2 in his favor).

Question Derulo. Did any Pokemon ever manage to outspeed Cuntloom? Its faster then a Gengar spec'd for speed.

Silen's Suicune outspeed it iirc. I was also sure that a Speedy Gengar could as well. ¯\(o_O)/¯

Well Derulo, all that's left to say is congratulations and you're now the DLP Pokémon League champion!

…Or, you would have been, but you have one more challenge ahead. You have to face another Trainer! His name is Xion and he is... well, you'll find out.

    EDIT:

Xion, our robot overlord was handily bested by Derulo's team. For shame, Xion.

Derulo, congratulations on your victory. You've earned the title of DLP Pokemon Master. PM me a time and place to collect your prize. It's been a long and hard tournament spanning a large chunk of the summer and causing much frustration, but it was hell yeah worth it. I've had a blast and I hope to do this again soon.

The next tournament won't be for a while, but at this stage most of you know that it will be a NU tournament. The Korriban server will stay open for you to use as practice. Until then... o/

Grats Derulo. I am still a bit disappointed about getting fourth but I think that everyone did better than Xion did.

My Crobat was able to outspeed it, and with a 4x weakness to flying... pwnage was had.

I do have a proposal, how about that the next tournament is less epic teams but more fun/frustration. How about using teams that each of us has in their nuzlock runs? Instead of only using the best pokemon, fighting each other with teams full with ratata and Zubat and the like?

May or may not be rather fun.

I'd rather have something that even those of us not doing Nuzlocke runs can easily participate in. (Me. Me, me, and me. Oh, and me.) :awesome

    Suggestions include:

Type-limited battles where each team must consist of pokemon chosen from 6 randomly selected types, and everyone must adhere to these types.

Type-limited battles where every player only uses pokemon from the same type, randomly selected. If you match up against a player whose type is superior to yours, that's just bad luck for you. Maybe limit tiers for this one.

Only pokemon whose names begin with letters from our usernames, maybe as 3vs3 battles to compensate for those with shorter names.

A tournament with everybody using the 6 exact same pokemon in their party- EV distribution and move/item choice is left to the participant.

If you all want something differant to an NU tournament (which are arguably the most fun out there) then we can vote on it. As it is, I've had a fair few ideas for different types of tournaments we could run. One of which I think would be pretty epic but I'm saving until after the NU tourney.

Anyway, it's up to all of you as the tournament is for you alone. I know several people who have already started building NU teams but if we're going in another direction tell me.

In other words, if you don't want an NU tournament next, PM me with your suggestions.
